I think 146 cm apart is the best.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Are you sure about the positioning of the kans? I don't know anything about your room but, remembering having mine more together. I also found spikes mandatory, with or without skeets.

Great album BTW!

Re: Kazoo Kraziness. Alas, no ALAC?

I run: MPD 0.21.3 Upmpdcli 1.3.8 libupnpp 0.16.0 Decoder plugins: [hybrid_dsd] m4a and of course [ffmpeg] Kazoo is 4.13.23 on computer and phone, but don't think it matters. Server is Asset on Debian. I have a 300G image of the installation, it is not large when compressed but takes some time when w...

Re: Kazoo Kraziness. Alas, no ALAC?

I have no trouble with ALAC, but generally I stick with FLAC. I have an installation with Debian Stretch, MPD, and also use HAKAI with Spotify Connect and multiroom with iTunes/airplay and use it with my Apple TV when watching movies. No issues whatsoever and very happy with the whole setup. Love th...

I always found myself having to delete the Kazoo-app and installing it again, both on iOS and desktop. Works like a charm for me now, more than happy.

Re: GIGAPORT HD/HD+

There is no special drivers, therefore you will always use all eight channels and get 16/44.1 kHz. Only when using windows you can get 24/96kHz on two channels.

Re: GIGAPORT HD/HD+

I have been emailing some with ESI, and since there are no drivers for the Gigaport on linux or OSX – you will only get 16/44.1 kHz. Don’t know how this impacts the musicality but it would sure be nice with 24/96 kHz. from email with ESI: Because of your inquiry by using 24-bit/96 kHz. I mean the GI...

Re: GIGAPORT HD/HD+

When trying to buy one about a month ago, when the HAKAI was announced, I was told by a reseller that it would be available in September. It could be that they just ran out of stock. But it is only speculation!

Re: Linn Akurate Radikal vs Klimax Radikal comparison

These clips are made using the same process as before. The Radikal clips are later, and both have the new Ekos SE/1 on them, but it is the same LP12 with the same trusty Adikt. Both records are fully analog (this one from 1981). All files have been treated the same way. It is a little worse than the...

Linn Akurate Radikal vs Klimax Radikal comparison

I recently upgraded my three years old Akurate Radikal to a one year old Klimax Radikal. My dealer at Tonlaget helped me record the difference. It’s not 100% scientific but it was done fairly accurate – but not a la lab coat. The LP12 is my (Cherry plinth/Keel/Radikal/Ekos SE/1/Adikt/ADSM Exakt (usi...

Re: Linn Ekos SE vs Ekos SE/1 comparison

Thanks for sharing your impressions! It is exactly the same LP12 (Cherry plinth/Keel/Akurate Radikal/Ekos SE/Adikt/KDSM Exakt /ADSM (internal MM-stage)). I was not adjusted by my dealer for some time, perhaps it was two years ago. And it wasn't really super adjusted after the fitting of the new Ekos...

Linn Ekos SE vs Ekos SE/1 comparison

I recently swapped the original Ekos SE to the new Ekos SE/1. At the same time my dealer helped to record the difference, we tried to make is as close as possible, but still is still not 100% scientific. Have fun listening: EKOS SE https://www.dropbox.com/s/lnd86tu4bs39tbe/01_linn_ekos-se_ekos-se.fl...

And although I find the classics stand their ground, there is also new jazz that some might find more easily accessible, like Avishai Cohen Trio (Mark Guiliana on drums): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n3g2xhJqx8

Re: Jazz

You need to start with something really good like Miles Davis – Seven steps to heaven. A lot of classics is very bland in my opinion.
