So they are actually developing the three ranges separately? Majik speakers with Majik amps, etc.
I wonder if they used a Majik DS as well.
On the other hand, Philbo's comment was about the aktiv 109's. I believe the passive filter was made later.

Makes you wonder if the Majik 109s were tuned with Solos? That wouldn't surprise me at all. When developing a product, there are always a thousand choices to make; component A or B, value 47 or 50, layout 1 or 2, etc. I find that all of that becomes easier if the quality of the signal is really goo...

Great!! Everything appears to be correct now. Connecting aktiv systems can indeed be confusing and Ninkas are among the worst. The only thing I can't tell from the pictures is whether that white cable to the treble is correctly terminated. There was recently a guy with a similar problem on the Swedi...

You see my treble terminals have been inverted, is this incorrect? Never ever thought that the treble was wrong? If you compare your first and second picture, you'll see that the bass connections are the same. They're all correct and normal phase. On the first picture, your treble connection is inv...

Ozzzy, I removed some of yours and some of my posts in this thread, in an attempt to clear things up. It just got very confusing. HiddenSystems Ltd in Hartley Wintney stocks Kikkin. If they're anywhere near you, give them a call and see if you can borrow one. What speaker cables and connectors are y...

Cheers boys. Think mines ok. Better tempo, foot tapping now. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m581/ozzzy189/IMAG0451.jpg This does not seem right. The treble connection is out of phase. Swap RED and BLACK on treble, and you end up with a CORRECT connection for normal phase (no LK1, Kairn or Kikk...

Here you go - this was taken whilst phase reversed: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk92/telemouse1/IMG_4314.jpg All amps would have been normal, so red to red and black to black. That sure looks right! It's connected for normal phase (no LK1, Kairn or Kikkin in the signal chain). The thing is t...

This is easy to show in real life, and such a challenge to describe in text! Anyway, the above was about speaker connections. The interconnects are simpler - and you can't reverse phase with them, as positive is always the pin in the middle. Connect one channel at a time. Make sure the interconnects...

Hi Ozzzy! I'm replying here instead of by email, I hope that's ok. Ok, first of all: LK1, Kairn and Kikkin all reverse the absolute phase. This means that RED at the back of your power amp should go to BLACK on the speaker input. And BLACK on the back of your power amp should go to RED on the speake...

I still have an ugly looking temporary fix: A piece of polyfill (the white fluffy stuff you can find inside loudspeakers) behind the pod, in front of the bass reflex port. Tonight I've made an interesting discovery: This slight mod of the 109 port has turned out to depend on the power amplifier bei...

I just tightened up my driver's torque screws as i was surprised that there was plenty of turn left. Have I buggered up anything? Unless you tightened them to the point where materials start deforming, you didn't bugger up anything! The screws are usually quite loose a couple of months after having...

What is surprising is the fact that the developers state to have designed it with an antique and modified! Ittok -( and a Dynavector cart -(, so one wonders how it can perform any good in an original and actual Linn setting. Strange imho. It's been the same with a couple of other alternative parts ...

doesn't the quality of the signal going into the amp determine how well the amp drives the speakers? If 'well' means quality, I'd say yes. Better signal in gives a better signal out. But in terms of quantity, like energy, the source signal doesn't drive the speakers at all. The power amplifier does...

Fredrik has some Kikkin1.1s for sale, at a very reasonable price. If your heart is set on a KK, in the future, then you'd loose very little selling one of these Kikkin1s, compared to a Kikkin2.2 http://www.lejonklou.com/?news=90 Thanks for reminding me of this. I think there's only one left, so thi...

Exacerbated, I had to look that one up: To irritate or make worse. Yes, perhaps that was the effect. At first I thought of how the sound changed, aktiv Katans with 4200 do have a large and sweet character, they sound FUN even if the source isn't top notch. Passive Katans sound less dynamic and have ...

Fredrik, didn't you get an unexpected result when going back to passive Katans, from aktiv? Something along the lines that passive made the performance gap between your sources more obvious, so the LP12 was still superb, but your DVD player sounded awful. In other words, aktiv made the poorer sourc...
