Re: Booplinth

Hi, Klimax Radikal 2 has now replaced Klimax Radikal 1 in my main (Booplinth'ed, Trampolin'ed, Keel'ed and Karousel'ed) LP12-Urika with breathtaking results. I was a bit sceptical but found that it is not just a "£2k bug fix". It is a major musical upgrade which is worth listening to. IMHO, well do...

Re: Recommended control points

Yes! We've tested the latest top model of MacBook (crazy fast and crazy expensive) and it sounds fantastic. It definitely belongs in the top range of control points, but we have yet to compare it with the iPad mini 6. My credit card would like to tell you that nothing, nothing, can beat an ipad min...

Re: General Discussion about Källa

I don’t know how to ask/describe this properly, so Is Apple’s AirPlay link between the Källa and the WAP a link/no link type of connection or something on a weak link/strong link continuum? Im wondering if a link/no link connection would always sound the same or if a weak link/strong link connectio...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

This surprises me because the Skeets on top of carpet remove some of the rigid stability that we were told is a major part of the Kan stand's performance. However I recall some positive reports elsewhere in this forum from people who have tried this, so when a set of cheap Skeets came up for sale I...

Re: General Discussion about Källa

Källa has been a game-changer for me. There's no point commenting on its sound, it's all about the music. Analogue man has quietly left the stage... I look back at my expenditure on new and re-issued vinyl, and weep. Then I look forward on my future lack of expenditure on vinyl and rejoice. And then...

Re: Tuning Mats

Thank you Fredrik for again sharing your experiences. But still I’m kinda amazed that in the opinion of many on the forum there is on the one side so much (successfully) to improve on an already very expensive basic Linn LP 12 (see LP12 product history item and retail pricelists from more than 4000...

Re: Recommendation for 6m RCA Cable

A few years ago I had standard linn silver interconnects and 9 metre K400 from Tundra monos to 242s. Wanting to move the tundras closer to the speakers using recommended 2.48m K400s, I tried 9 metre linn black interconnects (silver phono interconnects) from the sagatun monos to the Tundras- no cont...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

A minefield David .Im guessing you'd be swapping Radikal sockets with Källa if was as simple as front-end goes here.It might also be unplug Källa while LP12 working and vice versa .Hours of endless fun .Maybe getting this sorted will get rid of the tinkering once and for all . I've had the assumpti...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Fredrik, how do you cope with this when you test? I know that Tundra takes time to become stable at the trim port, and that Radikal also needs a bit of time, but I have no idea how other units are affected. I just try to make the conditions as equal as possible. If you disconnect and reconnect the ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

mmh seems like a version of the the Radikal first vs. Sagatun first debate is back … maybe it really depends on the pre-amp and LP12 motor control in use. If it depends on the specific pre-amp and LP12 spec, that makes it difficult to benefit from others' experiences. I followed the Radikal or Saga...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

So Lingo, Kairn, Linto was the order most preferred. Huh! The only conclusion I can draw is that I need to continue testing various orders in the power strip and take precise notes of all findings. With Kikkin, Sagatun and Sagatun Mono I had consistent results for long enough to think that I was do...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Thank you Lego! I've already established my preference for preamp first. I did that when I still had a Urika. On your clips I ranked Kairn-Lingo-Linto first, and Kairn-Linto-Lingo last. Accordingly I've swapped my Entity-Radikal for Radikal-Entity. Nice!

Re: General Discussion about Källa

I’ve jus turned off the NAS drive and about to pack it away. There’s just no need for it any more with Källa. Once warmed up, like Tokenbrit, I probably have a slight preference for the LP12, but in practical terms just use Kalla for speed and convenience. What's best is it's not in your face obvio...

Since 026 arrived I've been using spotify, and have tried qobuz. Qobuz wins in hifi and detail, but sounds uninvolving compared with spotify. On my Hakai, my LSNAS was more musical than spotify, which induced listening fatigue. With 026, my LSNAS is better than with Hakai, Spotify is more musical st...

Roll on the winter solstice

Time for an update! Charlie1 (and Spannko) did finally get to listen to my system, about a year and a half (and an apartment move) later.
