As many have asked the reason for the sale is to try to retrieve the necessary funds to further upgrade the sources and the preamp.
Therefore trade ins of decent Linn playback is possible.

Hi I love my ATC's but despite that I would advice against changing your playback. What you have today is really great. The ATC´s are possibly better but as you have a great playback today I would not spend any money there. Better to keep saving and upgrade the source. I also like to mention that it...

Yeasterday I installed an Kingston SSD in my ReadyNas Duo instead of the two Sata drives that I had previously. The improvement is very obvious. I feel as if a curtain suddenly was removed between me and the music. Price was about Euro 400 and I think this was one of my most priceworthy upgrades eve...

Sounds like I've finally found a table more musical than the Isoblue. Some slight variations, so need to check I'm being thorough, but certainly sounds promising. I think it looks quite dinky too and highlights the LP12 better: - http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk92/telemouse1/IMG_6322.jpg Not q...

I think it's for this reason I struggle to enjoy listening to music through the ATC's - I'm sorry, I just don't find them very tuneful. PS This is a "Tune Dem" based forum, hence the remark Obviously I do not agree with this. I find them very tuneful but I also find the Linn speakers maybe even mor...

Hi The reason for my previous remarks was merely to try to get everyone that has not yet had the pleasure to listening to ATC to have reasonable expectations. The other big thing I feel they have going for them are the drivers. You can't have a great speaker without great drivers. If you look at the...

It was a delight to read your post, Christian! Congratulations to the new speakers, I hope you will stay happy with them for a long time. I still haven't listened to any ATC loudspeaker but am getting more curious every day. There is no doubt in my mind that Thomas OK's contributions on this forum ...

Talking about it, any ATC speaker that look like Bricks? 8) Yea, Sure the classic models, which I have, look a lot like the bricks. I would say that the bricks are somewhere between SCM-50 and SCM-100 in size. You can see a few pictures on the ATC website. http://www.atcloudspeakers.co.uk/product.p...

In the meanwhile we can suffer together   Yeah! Thanks, great info. BTW. I friend of mine who currently is playing on A2200 / A242 came over to listen to the ATCs. First once, then twice. Today he told me that he has made models in strong paper of the SCM-50 and SCM-100, just so see how t...

When I bought my ATC SCM-50 I had the opportunity to try the ATC C4 sub at home. The dealer said that this was a common set-up. I also sent an email directly to ATC and they said that their general advice was to use the 15" sub with the SCM-50 and larger models but in my case, as I was only intendin...

Hi All
I found this link. What I found interesting was the pictures from the ATC factory. Kind of nice that there are still small manufactures that make quality hifi (and YESSS I know of one in Sweden too )

This month I have had two experiences that to me perfectly demonstrates what tunefulness is. First I went and bought new headphones for my tiny iPod shuffle, I still use the one in a metal casing with a clip and a round button. I tried three of Grado's models: SR 60, SR80 and SR325i(?) in rising or...

Re: Do I need a sub? or is something else wrong?
Does anyone know if it is possible to audition ATC in Sweden? Arva Trading should be able to help you: http://www.arva.se/atc_hifi_start.htm However, I think they only carry the Entry series, not the larger models. Thanks, actually I sent an email to them in the beginning of the week, but no reply....

Re: Do I need a sub? or is something else wrong?
Ultimately you should test with a 345 and two 226 in your room. Start with one 226, add one and finally use only one 345. That would give you a baseline for the decision. Easy in theory but not so easy to achieve in real life. Anyway thanks. Since I started this thread I have gotten real curious ab...

Thanks for all the replies!
I will start by borrowing a sub and see what that does. Also I might consider a different positioning in the room.
Thanks

Do I need a sub? or is something else wrong?
Hi I have kind of a problem in my system that I am seeking advice for. The problem is that as soon as as I move out of my listening position, which is in front of my speakers with a wall behind my chair, the music gets worse. I have not previously felt this to this extent and it all started when I c...
