Re: Is the Netgear GS 108 Safe?
I don’t really see the relevance of this thread. The subject line is misleading, as there is no vulnerability in the GS-108T that applies to how we use it; in a local area network where access to the internet is through a router. If you have a Netgear Prosafe router you might want to check whether y...

Re: Wanted: Blue Jeans Cat 6a
I suspect it will be difficult to find a second hand BJC Cat 6a, so why not order one directly from them in Seattle, Washington?
Specify the length to 8.5 feet and use the shipping option with customs pre-paid. Worked like a charm for me last time.

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp
Those would absolutely work. How they sound I don’t know.
I’ve been trying to figure out if there’s a more optimal way to do the physical connection, one that doesn’t in any way degrade the signal to the loudspeakers. But I don’t yet have such a solution.

Re: iPhone/iPad Directly to Källa?
I notice there are 9 different hardware versions of the MR200. Which one are you using? I’ll get one and record some comparisons against the two different Zyxel 4/5G routers I have available, plus another 4G router I can try if my SIM card fits. Sound great! I will check. "(an older TP-link which s...

Re: iPhone/iPad Directly to Källa?
Do you mean using a 4G/5G router, Spannko? I use a TP-link Archer MR200 4G-router in my lab. It’s powered from a strip with 3 outlets that powers nothing else. An 8.5 feet Blue Jeans Cable CAT 6a connects MR200 to Källa. No switch is necessary, as it only degrades the music when inserted between MR2...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune
Looking forward to it, erho! When listening to clips, all of the nice, detailed sound in the room is destroyed. This can turn some people off, because the clips don’t sound that good. But it’s also actually helpful, because you get to hear a raw version of how the speakers and the room are interacti...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune
Thank you! That looks like far less than 60 cm from the rear wall? Yes thats 30 cm, can you recommend me some tuning? Is the Ikea Kallax device between the speakers too high or too large? The only way is to methodically move the speakers around and listen. Change track if you don't get a sense of b...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune
I get too much bass when I pull my speakers nearer against the wall, I find 60cm is the minimum or perhaps I am hearing wrong and do not understand Tune method. What speakers are that, erho? And what does the room look like? How wide is the wall behind the speakers and how close is the nearest corn...

Re: Which App ? (Streaming + Local)
Thank you TMV! I need to try this.
And you should try a GS108T switch in between Amplifi and Källa, powered by the “digital power strip” that now feeds Amplifi, Amplifi and NAS. I think you will like it a lot.

I do too! Sounds very promising.
I have so many questions about this project. I’ll start with the first: Why the upward mounting of the mid/bass driver? Did you try mounting it above or below the tweeter and what were your conclusions?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Did you desolder and then resolder the cable or did you cut it? I have a special cable that I've used for small mass joint comparisons for at least a decade. I still have more than 50 of them so I can let the joints age and hear the impact of time and burn-in. I first make sure they sound exactly t...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
The single joint soldered with these temperatures was the inner (signal) lead on the single RCA interconnect between Källa and one Sagatun Mono. IIUC, the soldering was done on a Linn Silver IC on the Källa end or the SM end or on both ends? Not a Silver IC, but a cable I use for these tests only. ...

Fredrik, with this knowledge in hand do you think you'll be able to produce interconnects that's even better than Linn Silver? If so then you'll have me and very likely a bunch of other people lining up to buy a pair! I have tried and failed. Maybe one day I will succeed. Just bought myself a pair ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I do use my own amplifiers, every day. This system, however, consists of Källa, Sagatun Mono and JBL708P. It’s really good for movies and pretty good for music. The 708’s have certain strengths which are fundamentally different from those of Klångedang T1’s (which I find more musical but they strugg...
