I can very much second Pete (Springwood64)'s recommendation for a Harmony remote. I've been using a 655 for a couple of years and think it's fantastic. When mine recently began to suffer from a couple of stuck buttons, I immediately went onto eBay to find another, to avoid my wife getting truly upse...

I can have the kabers back if I wanted to .It would be nice to dem tune them against the 109's ,but what would be needed to do this in aktiv The kabers are 3-way aktiv, so you would be able to drive them with your 6100 if you get the right Aktiv cards (which are available from Linn for the Majik am...

That's a definite possibility, ML!
Thomas - What do you think of these:

I'm tempted to get a double width unit, as it would fit better with the look of the room.

Enclosed Stand Advice
Almost all of the advice on here regarding stands only seems to cover open shelves. With a two year old daughter around, I need to get an enclosed rack which can take my ADS, Kinos, two 5125s and a Tunebox. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: AKG K 420 headphones
As I have previously recommended the now discontinued AKG K24P with some reported satisfaction on the forum, I would like to share my latest find. I tested the K24P/K412P against a pair of (well run in) AKG K 420 and could not believe my ears! It was a definite improvement from my beloved K24P. The...

I really see the point in a tunebox, but my small enclosures won't take more than one or possibly two cards. It needs to be a much larger one as some speakers require ten cards. Maybe you need to investigate a double width box? I always liked the way that Naim power supplies were half the width of ...

My suggestion would be for a Lejonklou Tunebox which will take Chakra Aktiv cards. Ian Wilson (Linn engineer) has said here http://forums.linn.co.uk/bb/showthread.php?tid=2422 that there is no intention to produce a Tunebox for chakra cards. Since the Chakra cards are felt by many to be an improveme...

2) The best position in the room (regardless of where you sit) evaluated with the Tune Method. This will make the sound of your speakers tuneful and enjoyable. They will also be more likely to "disappear" with a proper placement in relation to the room. In practice, how do people do this with wall-...

When I was in a larger home I had Tukans in the basement. The dealer recommended mounting them 18" off the floor on brakits. I was surprised by this but the results were really good. It is hard to position the spacing with brakits. Mine were 6Ft between but I would expect this to be somewhat differ...

Position for wall mounted Tukans as rear speakers?
I'm currently finishing off the detailed design of an extension to our house, which will include a new sitting room, so that I can finally recombine my Linn system (currently used for stereo only in the office) with my AV system (currently the main family system). One aspect to this will be setting ...

Exotik (Analogue) for Sale
I have an analogue Exotik in silver for sale. It has the 5.1 channel input/output, so could be used with a Blu-Ray player for HD audio and provide the volume control. Alternatively, it makes a great stereo preamp. I got it to replace an AV5103, and felt that the sound was slightly better. It wasn't ...

Shivers down my spine!
I've not stopped listening to my system all day :D Today I finally completed (I hope!) the purchases I need for some time, by adding a Kinos into my system to replace the Exotik, and putting Skeets under the speakers. I have to say that I'm truly astonished by how much more musical this is! I hope t...

Not something I'd considered before, although I've been using a Snazio player for downloaded HD content and the odd ripped disc for a while. However the analogue outputs are pretty horrid :( Does Popcorn Hour handle BluRay discs? Also, what's the sound quality like compared to a good BluRay player? ...

BluRay Players - Any good TuneDem over Analogue?
I'm looking at buying a new BluRay player, which I'd be feeding into my Exotik through the analogue outputs. Whilst I'm not expecting anything I buy to get near to my Akurate DS in audio performance, if I can pick one which has better decoding of the audio I'd prefer to. As far as the video goes, an...

What would be the most likely candidate? 242s? If so, how would you likely power them? You wouldn't be able to separate the left/right channels if you wanted to drive them aktiv with x200s. Is it enough of a drawback to start thinking about passive solutions? Well, you could always run 242s with a ...

What a Year! (The story of my system upgrades)
Well, it's been quite a year for me and my music... At the start of 2008, I had the following system, which I was very happy indeed with: Modified Naim CD3.5 AV5103 AV5125 with Keilidh Aktiv cards Keilidh's with Kustones and 038/2 tweeters All connected with K400 and Linn Black ICs Mk1 Centrik, Tuka...

Testing UK power cords at the moment. The best model will be fitted to the UK version of Kikkin. As there are a lot of possible cords and lengths, the UK Kikkin release might be a tad later than the Euro (Shuko) version - which starts shipping in a few weeks. Fredrik - Does this mean that you'll be...

Black Fascia/Case for AV5125 (also suits other "AV"
I'm selling a complete black fascia/case/badge for an AV5125. The rest of my kit is all silver, so when I bought a second hand AV5125 in black, I had to get the equivalent bits to convert it. These are the ones I took off the amp. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESEL...

But downgrading my KK to a Kikkin would free up a lot of cash! :) Bad idea! Even if Kikkin is as an Akurate Kontrol, Klimax Kontrol is a LOT better and the new KK is again massively better than the old KK. I'm guessing that KlimaxDS + Kikkin would be better than Akurate DS + Klimax Kontrol though, ...

Did you get any answers? Nothing very new. Only one reply, from a Linn employee, of: From my expereinces and using the tune demo method I would place them in order as the Kisto, followed by Kinos, closely followed by the Akurate Kontrol, then quite a jump to the AV5103. It has been far to long sinc...
