Thanks Sunbeamgls, I really apprecaite the kind remarks. My neighnors have learned how to be friendly, over time. Initially when I built my house, they weren't very friendly regarding my music playing activities. But they are very understanding now days! The plinth is Movingui wood, and made by Chri...

Re: Funny HiFi Shop commercial (Linn Dealer)

This has to be the best HiFi Shop commercial by a Linn dealer for a long time! http://vimeo.com/41852792 Using humor reminds me of the old Linn ads. I think a sense of humor is a very effective tool in communicating with potential customers. This commercial is very entertaining (in a good way) and ...

Just had the new Khan top plate installed over the weekend. It was a major sonic improvement overall, but the bass frequencies are much deeper and cleaner, and the midrange frequencies are more defined, which makes voices more human sounding now. Pictures of the new Khan top plate, the original Linn...

The new Khan top plate finally arrived last week, and was installed by ThomasOK. I tried several times to post pictures, but it was always an invalid entry. So, maybe in the future the system will let me post pictures. (Note: just tried again, will see if they are posted) In any case, the Khan does ...

As a follow-up to the information below, I replaced the furniture in my music room. It was a beautiful Early American style, but seemed to restrict the sound of my audio system (although it took awhile for me to notice). So, it was replaced with modern leather furniture, and the sound quality really...

On their home page, Tiger-Paw links to Hi-Fi World's review of the Khan, from November 2011. http://www.tiger-paw.com/index.html As useful as a bucket of sand in Sahara. It shouldn't be very long now, before I get a chance to hear the new Khan top plate. And if it sounds as good as described by many other audiophiles, it will certainly be installed.

No matter the results, further information will be provided.

During the years of my first Klyde cartridge, it sounded great and I didn't feel the need to upgrade to a more expensive moving coil cartridge. But eventually I purchsed a Linn Linto phono preamplifier, and decided to try an Akiva cartridge at the same time. Since then, my deck has been significantl...

Sorry Tony, I did not make myself clear. I meant in terms of the sound improvement. I wasn't sure if it was your deck or not, but it could have been someone who'd never had a service from Thomas before and therefore the deck may have benefited in other ways (i.e. torque settings) in addition to the...

However, I now wonder if the plinth was the only change or if it was fitted as part of a service too.
At the time my plinth was fitted, the price did include labor.
