Re: Record player for daughter
Thomas was kind enough to share the torque values of the Rega P3 including for the carbon system. Thank you very much at this point. After the appropriate adjustment, it is audible, although my dealer (I bought the record playerfrom him) obviously had a good hand. It was almost just a check as the d...

Thanks Tandaberry
Neither of us knew Serge Gainsbourg. My wife is blown away, she loves his voice.... maybe I should rethink the last 40 years of our relationship?... ;-)

I'm very curious to see how the Sagatun Monos sound with the upgrade, as an improvement is hard to imagine with such perfection.

Re: Ubiquity AmpliFi HD
Thanks Sopper. The GS105 is no competition for the 108 or 308, I discovered that some time ago. On the other hand, the Ubiquity is not very expensive, around 30 euros and maybe it will play in my setup.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
The example gives me something to think about. Thanks for the clips Fredrik. After a few runs you can hear a clear difference. That's why I ask myself the questions. Is my soldering technique sufficient? Is the temperature constant enough when curing the solder even though I use the same model as re...

Dank euch für die Information.
Ich denke niemand hat bisher einen Ubiquity Switch getestet. Ein kleiner günstiger ist unterwegs und wird die Tage eintreffen.

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?
Only 4 capacitors were swapped for Dayton Audio. The tip came from an American forum, which is where the pictures are from.
The 14mF was replaced by two 7.5mF connected in parallel.

Nice system. I think it's important that she listens to vinyl again. Just the way she should like it. And it probably does.

252 is more restrained, 253 sounds more direct. Prefer 252.

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?
I had it some time ago. Linn Axis or Digital with K400 in 2.48m length on Keilidh/Tukan with Naim 72/140. In fact, I couldn't hear any difference. However, this was before the Keilidh crossovers got new capacitors, which gave the speakers a significant boost. In the next few days I'll be making two ...

Re: Record player for daughter
I'm particularly happy to get young people excited about vinyl. My daughter now has the virus. Her smile when she heard the P3 for the first time spoke volumes. She is also happy with the TT and happy with the entire system. Therefore, a big thank you to the community, especially from my daughter. A...

The three Amplifi HD routers show firmware version 4.0.2. Which FW do you have on the routers? Are you aware of any influences of the FW version on the sound?

Re: Hermanns System
The assessment is not absolute. I see the jump from Kandid to Ekstatik rather like the jump from AVM to Amplifi. Maybe it wasn't stated clearly enough.

Re: Hermanns System
Thank you very much for your comments. D - AVM Repeater E - Amplifi HD Compared with the Amplifi HD, the music via the AVM repeaters does indeed sound strange, but not if only the AVM is known. On the other hand, I have no comparison with other routers, so can't say anything about the absolute quali...

Re: Recommended network components
With a little delay, three Aplifi HD routers arrived today. If only AMV's Fritzbox were even remotely as easy to set up. It only took a few minutes to get a dedicated WiFi mesh network for the Källa. I see the signal strength, which the AVM router does not provide, as positive. The optimizations des...

Re: Good sounding vintage gear - examples
With the Naim SBL, however, it should be the later bass, the first bass version sounds very pottery.
I think the Nytech 252 also belongs to this category. Although it was a long time ago, he had a good reputation at the time.

Thanks to you both, really helpful. Linn Axis currently seem to have disappeared from the market. Maybe a ProJect Xperience with Ortofon 2MBlue is a good turntable. Just a good offer from a dealer. Re: Record player for daughter
Thanks, Charlie I know the Axis from earlier days, although I didn't own one myself. But it has many of the merits of the LP12, which I discovered again with these. I don't know how to proceed, but the tonearm has to be grounded somehow and that apparently only works via the cable. I'm also not conf...
