Kazoo Server acting up
I just noticed that KazooServer is no longer running on my QNAP NAS. I removed and reinstalled several times both KazooServer and the Mono Framework but I'm still getting a SIGDEV error: ================================================================= Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. This...

Re: Linn AV5125 High Frequency Noise
Hi,
It's the SMPS power supply and it is normal. Both my 2250 and AV5125 amps make the same whining noise.

Re: Katan/Ninka/Espek Tweeter replacement
Now wondering if there are any Scanspeaks which could also be used, and are more readily available here in the U.S. Will do some research during holidays. Edit: Well, it seems the same Scanspeak tweeter I ordered for my Naim SBL refurbishing project meets the 92mm requirement, and it's cheaper than ...

Hmmm, nice catch!!!sunbeamgls wrote: ↑2018-12-19 22:38 They're 94mm in diameter so some work would need to be done to the cab or the tweeter to make them fit. The originals are 92mm.

Re: Katan/Ninka/Espek Tweeter replacement
Hi Ozzzy189,
Yes, I've seen references to the HiQphon tweeters but they seem to change the characteristic sound signature. Since the SEAS tweeters are relatively cheap ($34.00 USD ea.) I'm inclined to try these in my AV5140s to replace the original Linn ceramic ones and see how they sound.

Katan/Ninka/Espek Tweeter replacement
Hi, While researching the woofer suggested in the 'Majik 109 Modification' thread I digged in deeper into the SEAS available tweeters and found one that may be an exact match, sans the three protecting bars, for replacing Katan/Ninka/Espek damaged tweeters which are no longer available from Linn. SE...

Besides my old (new) Arkiv I have two Troikas and possibly another Arkiv to be sent to Goldring as soon as funds are available.

Re: Cartridge rebuild
Beck,
I recommend a full rebuild. It will come back as good as new or better, not a cantilever surgery work. After 20+ years cartridge suspension dries out which directly affects its compliance. A cantilever/stylus replacement may not address that.

Re: Cartridge rebuild
Hi Tokenbrit, Never found a Goldring rebuilder in the US. In fact a VERY trusted source told me last Thursday that Roy Hall is Goldring's rep in the US and it seems he sends them to the UK for rebuild. BTW, I requested technical information about the rebuild and David Giffin from Armour Goldring con...

Re: Cartridge rebuild
Hi Beck, I don't think they do retips only (not sure). The full rebuild cost is 300GBP + VAT + Shipping. If out of the UK there is no VAT but there may be import duties. In my case I was charged import duties by the UK even thought the cartridge was to be rebuilt and returned to the US. I ended up s...

Cartridge rebuild
Hi, Long time no post. Been working a lot back at work (hackers constantly trying to exploit vulnerabilities but so far no luck), and on my spare time Audiomaniak takes most of my time setting and resetting new and old LP12s so owners can fully enjoy them ;) After careful analysis of all cartridge r...

Is very sad that years of invaluable information that was collected in the Linn Forum are no longer available. Time to move on.

Re: Linn forum down?
Yesterday I had a chat with my local Linn dealer and mentioned that he was flying to Chicago to attend the Linn dealers conference, and that European dealers had already met. My suspicion is that the forum will remain closed until all dealers around the world are presented with whatever news they ha...
