Urika, latest version

I am selling my personal Urika which is the latest version featuring the newer style tonearm plug and the additional fitting for running the power cable through the hole in the plinth originally used for the arm cable. This Urika is a few months over a year old so still has over 3 years of warranty....

I would definitely be interested in the conversion information. I don't currently have a B1 having sold mine in order to put the money elsewhere - and also because I thought I might go for a G1 or G2. However, I do plan to reacquire a B1 once I am a bit more flush and the opportunity presents itself...

I think the Kiko hints that Linn might go down the digital crossover route - the ability to co hfigure to any speaker with oftware must be very attractive. However, don't you then need a DAC per power amp/driver? Is that 10 DACs per pair of a242s? Basically that is true - you need a channel of ADC ...

There are parts of this idea I like and parts I don't. I do like the idea of a configurable tunebox but it would make no sense to have 2, 3, 4 and 5 channel versions as the cost difference would be slight and the sales of each version wouldn't justify it. All you really need is a box that could hand...

Can you tell us which version of the RCAs these Silvers have - slotted or solid? I assume they are factory made? Thanks.

I haven't been posting on this thread as I haven't really had time to experiment with the different updates and now I don't have a DS as I sold my Majik and have used the funds elsewhere for now. I do plan on getting another DS in the future but it will likely be at least an Akurate and probably a w...

Paolo is the first one I am aware of who suggested the musical improvement of the higher torques. I tested the values he came up with on a couple of samples and I agree with most of them. The best torque I found for the main board and control board on the KK is 1.0Nm -1 notch (on the SR driver - equ...

I have to wonder if you couldn't just leave the internal bass amps in the 350s connected to the midbass speaker terminals instead of using the line level connection option. Then you would have the internal circuit already used to balance out the bass when using the 350s passive. The question would b...

Substance, Internet? Surely you jest.

I saw a quote somewhere recently that 99.9% of what is written on the Internet is false, 99.9% of the remainder is untrue and the rest is questionable. ;-)

So you finally found an Archidee. Very interesting report. You now have what I have found to still be the best LP12 stand yet but you still favor the IsoBlue. I suppose I will have to find a way to try one of those out but they are not as easy to find in the US (but much easier than the Archidee). I...

If you have read my posts here and on the Linn forum you will already know that I do not consider the Khan to be a musical upgrade over the Linn SS top plate. The newer Linn SS top plate with the additional stud welded in the corner near the motor is a worthwhile upgrade if you don't have it. It doe...

Interesting post Flatcoat and good to hear another music lover who puts the Tundra up with the Klimax amps (and a v1.0 at that). I did want to correct a couple of things in your post, however. The Tundra is 24 Watts continuous per channel at 8 Ohms, 20Hz to 20kHz at the rated distortion of less than...

Well, you beat me with that news. I was surprised to take the cover off the connector and find the different wire sizes for bass and treble - something which AudioQuest has done for some time although all with solid cores. We received our sample Kiko system two days ago and are still burning it in. ...

That is a quite interesting development. A digital crossover gives the ability to do quite a lot more in tailoring the response of the speakers. Of course the big question is whether it has the quality to be in a higher level system. After all, Linn uses a Class D amp on the Sekrit DS-I (and possibl...

I don't know any more but expected Linn to have done something like this. Firstly, it makes sense for them to include cables with the system especially as it requires four conductors and the Speakon connectors. Secondly, you could hardly expect your Kiko target customer to be happy with K400 snaking...

MAJIK DS BLACK IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

I am selling my personal Majik DS. I was able to listen briefly to the Tundra through MIsos and I was quite happy with the musical quality. They were only set up for a couple of hours as someone else needed the room at the store for a different demo and removed the MIsos so I wasn't able to really crank them up and see how the Tundra...
