Neither Naim Audio. A friend sent them a bolt-on case NAP250 (very old if not one of the first NAP250 amps) for repair (no sound on one channel) and they basically replace ALL the discrete components on the board and it was certified to be performing better than new due to higher tolerance componen...

The bigger question for most potential customers is whether they want to deal with something like a plastic cap covering the hole in their beautiful Keel when they upgrade the arm. That's the reason I have not bought the Keel. Drill a $3,200 USD aluminum sub-chassis and later cover the hole with a ...

When I went to Linn I was told by the guy rebuilding their MC cartridges that Supex designed and made the Trak, Asak, and Asak-T. The Asak-A, Karma and Troika were designed by Linn but made by Supex. The Troika was an afterthough from Linn to enhance the Karma. The Basik, K-9, K-18 and K18-II were A...

Hi, Members from the PFM forum and the Linn forum have favorably recommended Esco for the rebuild. AFAIK they use the tune method to evaluate their systems (be it Linn, Naim, etc.) and some of them have had their Troikas rebuilt by EsCo more times than I can count! Still haven't specified which part...

New (old) Troika!
Hi,
Just got myself a new (old) Troika that's going to be rebuilded by EsCo (Expert Stylus).
The waiting list is at least 2 months so I will need to be VERY patient.
Can't wait...

The dealer in UK who I bought the Jelco from even claims that Jelco were the makers of some version of Linn Ittock arm. That maybe true for the original Ittok LV-II since it was manufactured in Japan to Linn specs. BTW, the tonearm designer last name was 'Itto'. AFAIK, Ittok LV-IIIs were manufactur...

Alternative LP12 tonearms
Let's put on my flak jacket first..... OK, today I noticed that my Ittok's headshell has developed some type of 'corrosive' reaction and the black paint has developed warts (no kidding!!!). http://myfo.to/fond.jpg Living in the tropics I'm almost sure that humidity has something to do with it... I'm...

Fred, I finally had a chance (started holidays today!!! ) to check under the 4mm sockets in the 2250 and yes, there are rivets almost touching the solder leads. As you recommended I just cut them short and everything is sounding beautifully. Thanks for tip and Merry Christmas!!! ...

Well after spending more than two months without my 2250, it is finally back!!! Total cost about $250.00 USD. BTW, I bought the Deltron 4mm sockets to swap the darned BFA sockets in the 2250 and the dealer's technician said that they were not the same type!!! Suspiciously as soon as I got ho...
Thanks Chris! But if the alloy (Zamak) actually is altered, this might be the main reason behind the improvement? Wasn't it called 'Mazak'??? Don't bother, just checked Wikipedia and the correct name is 'Zamac', but it seems that since the early 30's it has been called 'Mazac' in the UK and I clear...
