This is kind of what I experience in my system too.. I have the original old Silvers but use my Blacks.

Re: Beck and his black boxes.

Bit late to the after hours shut in. I prefer G to F for sure. I then preferred G to H but having listened again I changed my mind and now prefer H. Thank you Charlie1. Listening to the full! Beatles “Magical Mystery Tour” album for the second time in a row on CD! I just have to thank everyone on t...

Re: Beck and his black boxes.

H & H2 is better than G & G2. With H & H2 I hear more of what's going on in the music and all the different instrumental fills has more purpose. I was about to tell you that G2 was better than H2 until I noticed I got them backwards. I listened to both H and H2 compared to their G versions and I wo...

Re: Beck and his black boxes.

I know this isn't about voting and such but G & G2 is better than F & F2. It's more music and also sounds cleaner :) just a feeling but I think I can slightly better follow the different text/voices to the end of the clip with G2 compared to F2 Thank you both for commenting on my clips even if I di...

Re: What Makes a Loudspeaker Musical?

With open discussions and clips of many different systems and speakers bias can be challenged.

Bias is always present but as long as we keep an open mind it can be dealt with in a constructive manner.

Re: What Makes a Loudspeaker Musical?

I have been on this forum for many years now. I do not know much about speakers but I can listen.

My favorite is Hermanns Isobariks. They speak to me in a way I cannot shake off.

That is my very personal choice. :-)

What makes them musical? I do not know………

Lovely set of clips Sopper. A2, B2, C2, D2, E2, F2 and G2 is what I am looking for. They convince me musically.

Re: Beck and his black boxes.

I like it beck, for both tracks, very good! Enjoy! Thank you Charlie1. I am done with my CD player setup. My last advice to anyone into hifi is to go with what captures their musical imagination. No hifi is perfect. When you stumble upon a system that makes you fall in love with music keep it “clos...

Re: Linn 50th Anniversary

It's disappointing but maybe they'll post the music in a separate video. I have some thoughts about the presentation though and how it could've come from basically any high end manufacturer. The long list of buzz words and then almost nothing is mentioned about the musicality of the loudspeaker. ht...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I got an idea. Maybe it's time to bring back the Silver interconnects and see what happens? I know you prefer the Linn Black but when listening to them in my own system they sound almost skewed. Like if the high frequencies arrives earlier than the rest. Resulting in a quick and lean presentation. ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I found this much closer too. I still prefer C which to me is like a soft lullaby transporting me away. However, I think I now prefer D2 as I find it more interesting. You do seem to have zero'd in on a crossover point. Which way are you leaning? Both! :-) I think I am close but still working on it...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

..and here we go again C vs D: This was really difficult! D sounds relaxed and got a tuneful bass, still I probably pick C for it's pace and energy. C2 vs D2: Here I pick C2. D2 sounded a bit too slow for my taste. Thank you Whatsmynaim. This is what I needed. I now have a clear picture of where to...
