Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
Update on sticking issue. I let a friend who has a Rega 6 turntable borrow the record's that was causing an issue. He was aware of which tracks were at fault. There was no sticking or jumping as he put it. Peter is coming to my home with another arm; I have also decided to upgrade to MC Krystal and ...

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
Sticking?
The record plays a few tracks, then there is a repeat of the same lyric or tune, with a clicking sound, sometimes it will clear itself, or I have to lift the arm and move to another track.
I dont recall this happening before.
Now, it could be dirt on the record

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
Hi, I did get the arm and the kore through Cymbiosis, and he reset the deck. Peter did say that if I felt unhappy, he would swap the arm out of another demo deck. It could be that the records are in need of cleaning as most are okay. However, there are some that are brand new and were sticking on a ...

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
Decision made; I traded in my Ittok for an ex dem Ekos SE/1 plus Kore. Very please with the resuilts. Next upgrade will either be the Keel, or a shift to MC and Urika. One point regarding the Ekos which never seemed to happen with my Ittok. On some records a track will stick. The track weight on the...
Slipsik
I have the Kinki phono stage, how much of an improvement would the Slipsik give; I am not looking to go down the MC route

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
A bit info from Linn R/D regarding Katalyst: it's same preamp in KDS and KDSM. Regarding old generations, I have seen conflicting information. murrays Wrote: KDS/3 (Katalyst) and KDSM/2 (Katalyst) have identical volume control implementations. The only possible reasons for moving to KDSM are namely...

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12
[My dealer told me that a Klimax LP12 easily outperforms Klimax Katalyst. Matt] I went to House of Linn yesterday and listened to the KDSM Katalyst against a standard KDSM . It certainly sounds very good. there was another person there who has a Klimax LP12 and they compared the vinyl against the di...

Radikal upgrade etc
Now received my upgraded LP12 , cirkus , trampoline and Radikal and new speakers.
Everything is much cleaner and defined.
The most notable difference is being able to have the volume on as low as 35 rather than the 60+ that was required with my old shoe box lingo

My current system is Klimax DS ,Klimax control,Majik 6100 amp Active 109's and my LP12 with black shoe box lingo and Kinki phono. I now need to relocate my ssytem and get rid of the cables. I dont wish to spend 15K on Linn Akubariks just now,so I had a demo of Adam's Pencil speakers ,which were very...

Klimax DSD with K/K1 D is fantastic.
I had a Kikkin , now my KDS with K/K1 D is just great. Lost for words.

Hi,JW wrote:Looking for a late 5103 (with DTS support), in black 8)
The front needs to be in excellent condition (no scratches, ...) Minor cosmetic damage to sides and top would be acceptable.

Which version of the Radikal will you go for. The Klimax is a beautiful piece of engineering, but at a price. The Akurate. I would also like the Klimax of course but cannot afford one. I hear that the Klimax Radikal sounds a bit better despite what Linn says, but only a little. Either way, it's a si...

How are you getting on with the 6100/aktiv 109s Starman? Not knowing what speakers you had before - are you missing the bass and bigger sound of larger ones? Did you compare aktiv to passive 109s? I have C6100/aktiv Ninkas hence my curiosity. I had passive kabers . Which I gave to my daughter with ...

It sounds like quite a nice system. Although I have to admit I do cringe a bit when I read the LP12 listed as a "Secondary source". :) I was on the verge of buying a demo LP12SE with Lingo and Linto and selling my older LP12,but after discussion with my wife ,I decided it woud be better to go for t...
