Sunday at X-Fi

My wife and I arrived at around 12:30h at X-Fi and we went straight to room 26. There was a hearty welcome by Marco and Fredrik and it was such a pleasure for us to meet you both in person for the first time. The new Graham floorstanders were playing and it sounded really good, I had no clue that th...

Re: "Dual mono" and True Dual Mono

Your question makes no sense. RSG and LSG should not be earthed. As I wrote above, they are isolated from the chassis grounds and don't meet anywhere . If your question refers to a system built with other components than mine, where frequently RSG, LSG and chassis ground are connected, your questio...

Re: "Dual mono" and True Dual Mono

Left signal and left signal ground run as an isolated chain from cartridge to speaker. Right signal and right signal ground run as an isolated chain from cartridge to speaker. The two don't meet each other and they are shielded on their journey by the chassis grounds. IMO, the question of Spannko a...

Re: "Dual mono" and True Dual Mono

Completely separate grounds for the left and right channel means that the only place the grounds of the two channels come together is at the AC power strip or the wall. Even equipment that is dual mono in construction normally has the left and right signal grounds connected together. This is easily...

Great,
maybe you have a transformer that is optimised for EMT cartridges as well?
That means gain around 56dB as combo with Slipsik.

Re: Lejonklou Demo in nyc

Fredrik,
in the case you would like to change your NYC dealer there is one which operates according to the Source First principle: Rhapsody Audio.
I know this from forum posts of the owner of the store. It is a store by appointment only like Sound by Singer.

Very interesting discussion, may it keep going. Then klimax twin passive better.... then three twins ... passive ... nirvana! Then three twins a...

I was listening to A, and feeling pretty pleased with myself that the new rips sounded rather good, when I remembered that I also have this album on vinyl. The digital recording is by ECM. A is the iTunes rip on my LSNAS played through my ADS/3. B is the LP on a full-house (Urika 1) LP12. I left th...

I’ve just come across this on the Naim forum which may be related to David’s findings. Simon-in-Suffolk discovered that inter frame timing consistency had an effect on sound quality and his ideas were used to develop Naim’s new streaming pooling method in their latest streamers. I’m wondering if ‘e...

Ron,

Please comment further on CD playback with a very good cd player or transport vs. playback of ripped ALAC files from the same CD.
BTW, did you compare JRiver to Audirvana on Catalina?
