Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I felt #2, 2857 was the most musical and tended to make me want to move with the music. I felt #3, 2857 lost that and to me #1, 2856 was the least enjoyable sounding. It added some bass weight but I felt it was too much and the rest of the spectrum didn't move as well. I think closer together may w...

I'd probably go with 2857 but hard to tell with that track.

Maybe try closer together too, although I appreciate you have the cabinet preventing them going much closer to one another.
will try it closer without cabinet

Yes thats 30 cm, can you recommend me some tuning? Is the Ikea Kallax device between the speakers too high or too large?

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune

I get too much bass when I pull my speakers nearer against the wall, I find 60cm is the minimum or perhaps I am hearing wrong and do not understand Tune method. What speakers are that, erho? And what does the room look like? How wide is the wall behind the speakers and how close is the nearest corn...

Re: Recommended network components

I don’t know exactly what Roon Rock consists of, but I recommend staying well away from their software if you care about music. Källa works with Roon (well at least so far it has) but looses its magic. This is because the optimised timing of Protokoll is messed up by Roon taking charge of what is p...

I'm going to follow up on my test in November, where you listened to the difference between 352 and 353 degrees Celsius on one soldered joint. Most of you preferred 353 degrees C. Re: Recommended network components

I tried different power supplies, which initially came with different Netgear switches. Then two ifi power supplies and medically approved (Friwo) as longitudinally regulated types. Ultimately back to the original, whereby an power supply block from a old GS108T gets along perfectly with the new GS...

Sorry, one question remains, the distance apart the speakers, how do you measure it? From tweeter to tweeter OR from the inside edge from the speaker to the other ??

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune

Hi erho! The distance apart (left to right speaker) is usually the same or close to the same as with the speakers against another wall. I don’t consider it important at all where you sit. If you wish to maximise the stereo effect, you sit with the speakers at equal distance in front of you, like a ...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune

Hi Erho, I think the guide from Fredrik is spot on. Methodic and use "tune" > is it better or worse? Each step again, eventually the music "snaps" and everything is super, it's easy to recognize Don't rely on theory, just follow the steps You are right, but I always thought that it is also importan...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune

What speakers do you have, Defender? Your positions sound odd to me. Very few speakers end up so far from the rear wall and they also seem too far apart. I have written several articles about how to optimally install loudspeakers, some of which I'm rather proud. A few of them were published in Scan...
