Re: HAKAI playground
On initial listening I preferred clip 2 to 1 immediately, when I got to clip 3 I couldn't say clip 3 was better than clip 2.. I find the guitar sings more in clip 2..so I'd have to go with 2. I wish I didn't know what I was listening to though

Re: Thoughts on HiFi
I think the emotional connection we have is just us positively responding to the best kit we have. I'm sure if Thomas was stuck in a log cabin for a year he would very quickly connect emotionally to his kitchen radio if that was all he had. I'm pretty sure if Thomas were stuck in a log cabin for a ...

I think you are overestimating the level of so called high end hifi Charlie .Compared to live music there's not much difference between good hifi and bad hifi. Personally I think its our experiences in life that determines how much we enjoy music. If a dealer dropped off what I would describe as my ...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E
Hi Ron. Thanks for your elaborate reply! The AT95e was bought about 3-4 years ago. I believe I’ve put around 20-25 hours on it (holidays). The vm95c didn’t get anywhere near the 18 hours so i need to give it more time to settle. I installed it, played a lot of music and fiddled with the screw torqu...

Clip A was the Tinker Board S with Volumio playing from the on board SSD. As I prepared it for play part of me hoped it would sound terrible but it didn't. In my view it's pure luck that the board sounds good despite being compromised by the on board SSD and the micro USB power supply. In the next ...

Re: Snakeoil OS
Currently using Snakeoil as the OS for my NAS - Snakeoil and minimserver are maybe a little better than Win7 and Asset UPnP. At any rate, I've no desire to revert! Does anybody have the command line instructions to install Asset and then start on bootup? That way I can compare minimserver and Asset...
