For me, it seems logical to attach a name to the upgrade, as it's such a leap in performance.

Re: Sagatun Mono Tarandus

Tarandus makes a fantastic amp even better. Even if I was without them for a while, it's easy to hear the improvement. They are clearly more musical. It's hard to describe without mentioning the fantastic bass improvement. Much more nuanced and easier to follow in a way I have never heard before. It...

Interesting view, I think there should be nothing to hide.
How do You connect single wire on the speakers end?

Re: JBL 3677

The 3677 is only available from Cinema installers within the UK of which there is only a few. I called a couple of the larger ones and they don't even stock it so certainly wouldn't be able to dem them first. They are approx £1,100 a pair in the UK so not something I'd ever purchase without a dem. ...

Re: JBL 3677

I am running in a pair since last Friday. They are very special and even if numb, bass shy, and a bit odd out of the box, it's easy to focus on the music instead of the shortcomings in sound. They have improved and I really look forward to do the mods and get a decent (or actually top notch) stand f...

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

Eric 4.1.10 was released as Beta in april 2011. It's possible that nowadays, when you have a better equipment (and also an updated Harmonihylla as well as LS-NAS introduced 2013) - it's easier to judge. I suggest we all compare. My KDS is upgraded to the latest /2 spec (=first type of DS with analo...

Re: Klimax vs Akurate Radikal

From what I remember, the Klimax was definitely more musical than the Akurate. The problem is that I have heard similar differences when comparing different Dynamik PS.

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

I must confess I hurried a bit when comparing DS firmwares. Linnofil kindly remaindered me to try earlier ones and especially 4.1.10. This one is better than 4.14 and I will use it even if it lacks support for Airplay and Tidal.

Re: Klimax vs Akurate Radikal

I made the comparison a couple a years ago and a friend replaced his Accurate Radikal with a Klimax one. The difference was that big. Today I'm aware of the difference in boards and power supplys and you must do as Fredrik suggest to get a fair comparison. That said, Linns quality check is mediocre,...

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

And half a year later - what is the most musical firmware today? I tried the latest one and a few more recommended Davaars yesterday and I still think my good old 4.14 is the best one. It's a close call between 4.12 and 4.14 but I find the latter to be the most musical one. I could happily live wit...

Re: Need help with a Tune Dem! 'in room recordings'

I wounder what components makes the biggest difference in the two setups? I used to own a 52/SC and changed it for a 552 but never really got convinced about the musical superiority even if the new amp was sound wise more impressive. Unfortunately I didn't have the ability to compare them side by si...

Very interesting comparison and I don't know what you compare.
I find A musically superior to me, much more engaging and fluent.

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

I hardly believe Linn would tamper with the actual musical signal in their software. How would they know how to remix any specific track to sound better, if they don't know exactly what music tracks their customers are listening to at each specific moment? To me that seems unrealistic. I also under...
