Anthony, do you know if Majik 150 is a true full-range speaker á la Komri/Keltik/Isobarik or is it another speaker in the 242/Espek/Kaber/Sara "Bass-league"? Having not heard it, I cannot say, but it wont be Keltik, Komri bass, but will outperform Saras and Kabers. If I hazard a guess, I would imag...

Any idea if the Renew DS upgrade can be done at a latter date than the KDS upgrade? Trying to spread out the cost would be beneficial to some. Might be needed to stay out of the dog house, so to speak. ;) Reading the announcement it sounds like you have to order either the Renew DS upgrade or just ...

Isn't passive with the best amplifier you can afford a better option than more channels of lesser amplifiers? Naim have always upheld this "Also note that a single better quality power amp is almost always a more effective upgrade than going active with, say, a pair of 140s or 90s. Naim have freque...

The rumors of a "Majik 150" would certainly seem to fall in line with that. More than that I can't really say right now. On another forum, it has been stated that Linn just released a new speaker called Majik 150 and it's a floorstander with an Isobarik design. Does anybody know if that is a true s...

I may be in an exception category (but I know I'm not alone) in hoping that Linn throws the whole 3/4k array thing into the garbage can and start again with a new mid-treble concept--maybe you could get almost as good a sound with just a 3 way speaker design? Did anyone think of this? :-) For me, a...

They look like a huge brick that stands up on the short side.

Not sure that is the correct interpretation but I always have that image in my brain
Hmmm, that is as good of a guess as any other guess ! ! !

Hi Tony - The speakers look a little closer together than I'd expect considering the space each side. Hope you don't mind my asking, but did you use the Tune Method to position them?
Isobarik are good like that.

I can't see a replazable fuse inside the KDS/D, so I won't be able to try. There is a removable fuse in the KDS, but cannot see the reason to change it. It's been reported to improve "clean" sound, since it is not very expensive it's something I thought I could try. I would appreciate if you can te...

What in the thread is true, or likely true?
Both Majik and Klimax/Komri series are mentioned...

(great to have Majik price and Komri performance  )
It is not a Klimax level speaker!

Hi Ron,

Most of the connections are soldered directly on to the circuit boards in a twin, whereas the akurate amp contains plugs, sockets and linking cables.
The case has a sonic affect.
The Twin uses a better power supply.

Hi Manelus! My opinion of audiophile fuses is not suitable for print. Those that I've tried have been terrible beyond belief. Before trying them I had no idea a simple fuse could do so much harm. Apart from that, I doubt whether KDS has any removable fuse. As I'm not sure, maybe someone else can he...

Hi Fredrik

Unfortunately I haven't tried it yet.

i think Philbo recommended it in a passive system.

Will post when I try it.

Sounds like I've finally found a table more musical than the Isoblue. Some slight variations, so need to check I'm being thorough, but certainly sounds promising. This is a bit rubbish, but I think I got it wrong and my first impression was right and the bloody Isoblue is still more musical. I will...

There's someone on eBay offering 2x2m of k400 for £40 buy-it-now. If that's terminated, it's a bargain, and I'd be tempted to just buy it and see how it performs... I do like a bargain, as you know, but on this one I think I'll pass. When it comes to speaker cabling I'd want to ensure the soldering...

You would regret making any alterations to the table!
Alan spent a long time designing it, not worth changing it.
Try splitting your speaker cable into individual lengths.

All linn stands affect the sound. The better stand the better performance, both sound and musicality. The optional M140 stand is no exception - the biggest improvement is in the bass that is a lot more distinct and defined. The overall sound is also better but not as much as the bass that is actual...

For once, I have to disagree with you, Thomas. As far as I am concerned, the musical benefits of active operation are so large that I really feel there are no passive speakers that can compete. I recently visited a friend who used to have aktiv Isobariks, driven by four LK100's. The aktiv filter ha...
