Re: Linn forum down?

Saw on the archived page that Linn forum have 26,294 registered members. That is a sizable amount of customer base to turn off. Maybe the forum moderator is on extended vacation? I guess there are a lot of spammers taking time to moderate apart from the regulars.

Re: Linn forum down?

Many other brands have rumor sites,
Canonrumors, Nikonrumors, Fujirumors, Macrumors etc.. If this continues we should perhaps start a Linnrumors site where we can speculate freely. Especially if the reopened forum will be policed.

Re: Linn forum down?

"In the meantime, we’re using this opportunity to review the purpose of the Forum and our approach to moderating it" Hmmm, lets hope it doesn't end up santised. They'll lose a lot of valuable customer input if that happens. Wow confirmed suspicion 1, that the decision is Gilad's. I agree with sunbe...

Re: Linn forum down?

Regarding Dynamik for 2250/5125. I think if Linn resellers got together with Linn they could investigate what it takes for another Dynamik batch. Just like there was a batch of Solos dynamikiked after the initial offer expired. But Solos are current in produduction units so electronics will not run ...

Re: Linn forum down?

The Linn forum is an extremely valuable asset. No doubt is the value of the forum noticed inside Linn. They could have put a notice "not to worry" and "eta" so Linn junkies would not become nervous. Lejonklou Forum plays a similar part with a core audience that shares ideas. I believe it is a very e...

A mastering engineer I met in the 90'ies said he would recommend / use dmm when the source was muddy and the record company/studio would not allow him to apply any eq.

Re: Head to head.. who wins?

Hi, Right now I suspect you will find your 242 setup having a better tunefulness. It is also not without challenge to integrate the SUB with the speakers unless you are enable to place it directly adjacent one of your speakers and away from a corner. Given the input I believe the K320a+345 has the p...

I have compared and the difference is massive. I can only advice you to listen in your system with your data to determine what you prefer for each title available in both formats. Read the referenced link in the previous points for my thoughts. Am I right you are dol at the LF? Thanks Matt Yes! :)

Re: Accidental Damage to hi fi

Had a screw sticking out from the bottom of a laptop, which I placed on top of my Klimax 345 subw while testing REW. So much for SPACE optimization. Reminds me of when I got a new car, took it to the driveway (winter) and starting using the showel around it a bit to vigorously and caused a large scr...

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12

The only possible reasons for moving to KDSM are namely reduction in boxes, and putting other sources through the system with HDMI : Television, sky. But its an expensive choice. There is no straight analog pathway with the KDSM, all analog inputs go through both an ADC and a DAC. Matt There is no ...

I think you are incorrect regarding KDSM when it comes to streaming sources. My information is that the KDSM volume control is 100% digital.

I will be very careful not to make any judgement about "best". But for me my money (literally) is on the combination ADS/1 + KK/1/D + K320a. I have now spent some time with KDSM and 320a+345a. The K320a are connected using balanced silvers directly to the KDSM. 345 is connected using a pair of unba...
