Re: HAKAI Burn-In

As Fredrik has said in the past it can be difficult to get good sound and good musicality at the same time .This would concur with David's observations on the j vs GA ,where j is warmer with a fuller and more impressive sound but less engaging .

A Scotsman calling an Englishman cheap? Ha ha! You take the high road, and I'll take the low road, and you'll get a Hakai before me. LOL I have time to decide and consider options since it's not the preferred board, as you yourself decided, and the email hasn't arrived yet from the supplier... Once...

HAKAI Burn-In

As the Hakis are slowly streaming in I thought it would be good to give initial tasting notes as far as burn-in goes. I've only had mine up and running for 2 days and listening has been quite sporadic and although extremely musical its sounding thinner than I had expected except when real bass shows...

Re: General discussion about HAKAI (Split from original thread)

Got my Hakai up and running with the GA-N3150N-D3V flavour. Initially, Volumio wasn't seen in the network then it was, then it wasn't so decided to get another router and have a separate network for the Hakai and so far it's been very stable. I also decided to turn off digital volume which makes me ...

Re: Source HAKAI components Cross-Country

Thanks for the update - much appreciated. No email as yet, but will have to decide on the VAT... I admit I do not understand why the supplier cannot just zero-rate the sale per the HM Revenue & Customs gov.uk webpage : "zero rate the sale, as long as you get and keep evidence of the export...". Of ...

Just start buying Intel 320’s 600 GB I guess :) I was under the impression that you can only attach 4 to the 3150 motherboard. Is there a way around that? Sorry for my computer ignorance... That’s a problem of course. Maybe you could sort out a couple of TBs with important music and keep your curre...

Just spoke to someone and they changed firewall settings in windows and could access files on Hakai volumio and cast(with windows)...

Thank you Lego! I got it working today with Twonky on Windows 10 and Lumin, but will give that a go as well and see if I can “mount” the files to Volumio directly as well! I’ll post some clips later, but my initial impression is that it improves things by quite some margain! That's great news Azaze...
