A bit beyond the boundaries of this thread, but hey that's the way my brain is taking me.

Do the Linn DSs use EPROM and does it change content from firmware to firmware? Looking for a missing link here.

Thanks

Your obsession on details makes me comfortable. The obsession makes me a little............(smiley if you didn't know) The results make me very comfortable. I am never fully relaxed when working, and never fully into the music when not relaxed. The pros are not the cons. Are the prose music? Just h...

I've had more success putting something to blocking the 1st reflection before it encounters the wall rather than between the wall and listening zone. Hi Salty, with the boxes so close to the wall, I would have thought they do both - before and after. What do you use? Well in this room without recor...

Let me start by ducking the WAF comments. It has been so long since I've had my LP12 and record cubes, much like your's it appears, in my listening room. Back when I found that having the cubes staggered and not square to the walls worth trying. The end result being WAF reject. Stacked 45 degrees to...

Charlie1 be warned. My venture started with the simple desire to stream Christmas music for a party 9 years ago.

I think I went from 400-500 CDs to 2900 Albums in 9 years.

400-500 LP albums were accumulated in 25 years of LP12 use.

Listening hours proportional.

Charlie1 are you a PC guy? jRiver has a new MAC version but the old one was as bad as the PC one is good. No idea about the new one. I listen almost exclusively to my library. There are so many features I haven't looked into. I just had a glance and found under the AUDIO - CONNECTED MEDIA menus (not...

Charlie1, I just bought my brother a Denon DNP-720AE from Crutchfields. Just as in only hours ago. At a price of $299.00 coincidently. Never heard one or even seen one before. Unfortunately we live 1000 miles apart so I'll not be hearing it any time soon AFAIK. I am quite sure I will know more about...

Thanks for the tip ML. I am in the camp of it shouldn't make a difference, but can clearly hear it does. My lack of time keeps me from participating on the cutting edge. I have to say the testing is interesting, but has got to be a time sponge. Thanks to all those that spend the time to test and rep...

Sparing no expense, today I replaced the GS105 at the office with an 8 way switch. Brought the GS105 home and placed it in the system. Rerouted the Cat5 from switch to KDS.

I figured I would hear an improvement since ML and then others have reported favorable results.

Nice.

Thanks guys.

The KK might sound even better if the circuitry wasn't there at all, but we can't test that. Unlikely, as if you set RS232 to DISABLED in KK:s settings, the KK performs worse. Trying different RS232 cables sounds boring, as all you can hope to achieve is a little less degradation. And I think it's ...

Forgive me for asking now as I know the answer is here somewhere.

How does one use the KK KDS without the RS 232 connected for volume control?

Is it that the volume control through control points is lost and nothing else?

Very short answer would be 57 on KK/1D-KDS/1D-ATC SCM50SL AT.

This does not hold true on all material. I also listen at around 50 or lower much of the time for domestic harmony reasons.

I went from 4.11.4, preferred that to 4.12.357. The sound quality is better overall. TuneDem is not as good, but the sound is better enough I am working on moving the speakers I had sworn not to touch. Interaction of musicians is communicated better. Sounds better. Foot tapping is just not the same ...
