Thinking positive (as a Lingo2 owner): this might create a new aftermarket for pre-owned Lingos, and help upgrading to Radikal?

Re: Status in the world of hifi

When listening live, we are enjoying the occasion rather than the quality of the musical reproduction, and getting all excited ... I think Peter is onto something here. And isn't it similar to the nice red wine which enjoyed us so much on a lovely summer evening sitting on a mediteranian terrace, b...

Re: Brikin' It !

When my trusted Linn dealer demonstrated the Akurate Exaktbox Katalyst upgrade, he used his own Keltiks. They really rocked the audience. Maybe Keltiks without analog crossover are the better option, or they just need 30+ years to burn in ;-)

Re: Musical NAS Drives

Happy New Year! Where is EMI? Everywhere. I'm not a true EMI expert, but I worked in the defense industry for 15 years. We had our own EMI lab, and I have seen quite a few measurements on all kinds of equipment. Unwanted energy is transmitted via signal and power cables, and radiated through the air...

Re: Musical NAS Drives

Possibly, this has to be attributed to Electro Magnetic Interference. This would also explain, why the same piece of equipment is sounding better or worse in different homes. I commented on my own (poor) Melco experience above. Many trustworthy people speak very positive about their Melcos, and I do...

Re: Musical NAS Drives

Back to NAS drives (as I also like to 'own' my music. And when I need convenience, I can always use a rip of my LP's): Melco's are pretty much loved by the community at my trusted dealer. So I borroughed one to audition it in my home, and compare it against my allegedly bad source (a regular PC whic...

Re: Ethernet regenerator

Interesting concept, and I'd love to lend one from my trusted dealer to audition it in my system. Does anyone here have an idea, how this thingy differs drom Melco's NAS products, who also promise to "cleanse" the Ethernet signal for the DSM? There has been a lot of praise of Melco around. But when ...
