Having heard Komri many times I can only say these are the best ‘speakers I’ve had the pleasure of listening to music.
Just my opinion.
Good luck on your sale!

Re: Karousel
The published function of the button on the back of the unit enables an option to mute the output of the Urika to avoid loud pops to speakers when placing or removing the stylus from the record. It’s called “Radikal mode”. When selected (via the back button); you give the LP12 on/off switch a single...

Re: Bi-amp question?
It’s a heavy job splitting the K400 as mentioned.
Take care. Thankfully I had two friends with previous experience who took the lead on the task but it was worth it. Can’t moment on K200 as I haven’t heard it but the K400 is better than my previous Chord Epic.

Re: Bi-amp question?
I’m sure you’ll get different opinions on biamping. In the past I’ve biamped using a 4100 then later with a 4200. In theory there should be an advantage compared to single amping. I found it did give better control but took away some of the music so not really an improvement. Staying single amp pass...

Re: Recommended tool for 242 3 k array torque settings
On my 242 I’m using: 0.8Nm for 3K array 1.0 Nm on bass drivers Set with the Sturtevant driver. My biggest improvement was torquing the bass drivers. I’m pretty sure they hadn’t been disturbed since manufacture. When I checked the as installed values varied widely, a couple were nearly loose. Others ...

I don’t have any views on fuses.
However, expanding on cable ‘directionality’ regarding power cables and interconnects; what about directionality of internal component wiring in power supplies, amplifiers and speakers etc?

Ah Thomas,
That’s good info on the torque for Keel will run with my Sturtevant driver.
Do you know if it’s a dealer only fit? I’m supposing it is.

Re: Silver analogue interconnect
Having owned 8 solos and aktiv 350 in the past, I'm still amazed by the musicality of the 242 tundra system and that's not bad after 50 years of listening to hi fi. I would second that. Tundra and 242s with a good source and preamp sound great. I have never been tempted to change my Tundra/ Sagatun...

On a similar theme, there is a very informative video on YouTube with David Williamson (Linn Senior Design Engineer)and Ian Ridge of Billy Vee dealership explaining the development of Kandid.
Worth watching for those interested.

Re: Karousel
Well well.
Looks like solid engineering enhancement to me. In all this is maybe a milestone because most say the LP12’s core sound is fundamental to the bearing.

Re: Upgrade inertia
Everything I’ve heard about the Saras is positive although, admittedly, I haven’t heard them myself. I run 242 on the back end of a pair of single Solos passive, they need the poser IMHO If you stick with Linn amps I’d say a Klimax twin as a minimum. Others say they also work well with Fredrick’s am...

Re: Torque wrench
I’m not familiar with the Sealy wrench but it looks as if you got a good price. I bought the Sturtevant wrench and had to get it imported from America to UK via their UK distributer. Delivery took 8 weeks and the price was over £200 GBP. It’s a great bit of kit and careful use really gives sonic rew...

Re: LP 12 Upgrade Path
You are in a fortunate position being able to consider there upgrades. First off I don’t know the merits of your existing phono so can’t make meaningful comment there. How you move on depends on your future plan for the LP12. If you’re going to go for a top music Klimax player the path is clear; sou...

Two Lintos! One for each channel and individual power supplies? I’m running two Radikals, one on Radikal motor and other on Urika 1. Klimax Radikal case on motor and Akurate case on Urika 1 all to experiment with individual power supplies etc. Others have carried out similar experiments and found no...

Re: Linto vs built in MM/MC Board
I’ve heard a very near comparison with a Akurate level LP12 into Akurate Exakt DSM KAT using internal MC board. Compared to Linto. The results were night and day better with the Linto. The DSM internal board is OK but the Linto is much superior. This is a high level musical system belonging to a fri...

Re: Linn Klimax Twin or Solos
OK so l am running 242 Mk2 with one piece stands and a pair of Solos. I ran this with Solos non Dynamik then had the Dynamik upgrade. Note the Dynamik upgrade is no longer available. The Dynamik just gives more of what was already there before, so Dynamik is better. However, it’s not a deal breaker ...

Re: LP12 Priorities?
That’s unfortunate about the Kandid. Can you tell us the mode of failure? My Kandid is 5 years with just over 1,000 hours and is still great but will require replacement at sometime due to wear, suspension or channel failure. My view is that Linn designed the Keel, Ekos SE and Kandid as a complete s...

I’ve heard Sonabs many years ago. From memory they sounded OK but just floaty music and no imaging. Not criticising them as I think they were designed for the ambient listening experience.

Re: Linn Klimax Twin or Solos
Here’s my ten Cents I’ve only heard Lejonklou amps driving Linn 109 and it sounded fine within the physical limits of a smallish ‘speaker regarding scale of the music. So, unfortunately, I haven’t experienced these amps driving 242s. However, I’m using a KDSM/KAT into a pair of Dynamik Solos into 24...

Re: Hi-end phono interconnects/KDSM/2 advice
I’m a bit undecided on this. Regarding connection from U1 to KDSM/2 KAT. Currently I’m running RCA Silvers. RCA Urika 1 outputs into Linn RCA/balanced adaptors (supplied with KDSM) into balanced inputs on KDSM. The adaptors are good quality but I have it in the back of my mind that this additional c...
