Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer

I think it should be mentioned that unless I'm wrong (in which case Fredrik should correct me) you could certainly use multiple Lejonklou streamers in different rooms and play whatever music you like. The limitation is likely in whether you could sync the multiple rooms so that the music could play...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

I agree.

First clip sounds musical- second one does not.

What is the difference between the two?

Re: Simultaneous Tarundus Upgrades to Sagatun/Tundra

Tarundus upgrades are still settling in and the system continues to improve. Its very very good at the moment and really quite wonderful - hugely engaging and enjoyable. So much so, that any source upgrades ( KDS3 / Radikal etc ) are far from my mind and I am just enjoying the music. There is someth...

Re: Simultaneous Tarundus Upgrades to Sagatun/Tundra

I think I know what you mean in the sense that these are sound improvements that serve the music. . Yes - that is it in a nutshell. The improvements here enhance and complement the musicality whereas with other manufacturers, the improvements often do quite the converse and distract from, or even f...

Re: Simultaneous Tarundus Upgrades to Sagatun/Tundra

I am struggling as well to put everything in words. Musicality improvement is easy - simply more musical - therefore much better. The sound improvements are more difficult to quantify and describe. Normally I like better sound , but do not care too much for it as musicality is the main thing for rea...

Simultaneous Tarundus Upgrades to Sagatun/Tundra

Just received my Sagatun and Tundra Mono Tarandus upgrades - units settling in: Big jump in Musicality and big jump in Sound. This combination is quite something - I haven't stopped smiling since they arrived. Difficult to describe in detail, and perhaps different from previous upgrades: But even mo...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

When I send the monos for Tarandus upgrades I will put Boazu in their place and report back. Whilst I was boxing up the Monos for the upgrades , I listened to Boazu with KDS/2 and Majik LP12 ( Kore Akito). Compared to when I tried KDS/2 with Boazu and Komponent 110s in the bedroom this time, KDS wa...

Re: The meaning of Source First

Understanding and accepting 'Source First' does not mean that one cannot break the rule and improve the system downstream, and enjoy the upgrade. These are some of my reasons for having broken the rule: Opportunity arises to do this at a favorable cost or ease of upgrade. Source upgrade is too expen...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

I agree with ML, Boazu is a fantastic amp. In my bedroom - it sounded unbelievably good with my KDS/2 and Komponent 110s. Does not leave one wanting for much more, and Boazu frees up funds for optimization of streamer, NAS and cables. By the way - I clearly remember going from active NInkas ( LK 140...

Re: Majik LP 12 with Lejonklou

Although my only upgrade to the Majik LP12 was ever going to be a Radikal power supply, an opportunity to acquire an unused Akito 3B arm (thank you Nikola) meant that I now have a Majik with Akito and Kore subchassis. I thought it would be a nice upgrade for the meantime. Well - its phenomenal, just...

Re: Small floorstanding speakers?

Great Thread No idea so many were seriously into their daily hit of bass. Once you hear truly great bass, it's difficult to be without it. Like musicality...hard hitting bass is a drug :) I think I have yet to be so blessed. I don't think my 242's - much as I think there great, and the best I have ...

Re: Small floorstanding speakers?

No idea so many were seriously into their daily hit of bass. I must be in the minority here - very happy with just musical systems. It depends upon the music I'm listening to. It's really rock music that benefits most, and songs I'm familiar hearing 'with' bass. I reckon 80% of my music would be fi...

Great Thread No idea so many were seriously into their daily hit of bass. I must be in the minority here - very happy with just musical systems. Re: Small floorstanding speakers?

Finally - when I asked on the forum some time ago, about upgrading amps and speakers - some wise members suggested upgrading the source ( In my case from KRDS to KDS/1) ! Great advice as the quality of the bass ( if not the quantity) improved so much I forgot about the system and just enjoyed the m...

Re: Small floorstanding speakers?

From my limited experience: 242s just great speakers - perhaps a bit bigger than you would like, and a bit above budget ( black upgraded ones for sale on the forum at £2200) but could be all you will need for many many years. Komponent 110s mentioned above really musical and great value but probably...

Re: Melco N1A Silver 2 x 2TB

When was it purchased and has the warranty been renewed by Melco following the re build. If so for how long.

I am assuming Melco have fully tested the device after the repairs, and are satisfied it is as new.

Re: Gaio bass-shy?

I have had a Gaio for some time and with Majik LP12 ( with its Adikt cartridge) sounds great. Bass is great with Lejonklou amps 242s and good recordings on the LP12. I have found with the digital streamers that the better the source the more controlled and more enjoyable the bass , and this also app...

At this rate you will be spending most of your free time either doing comparisions between upgraded and non upgraded Lejonklou amps, or between all the recently upgraded versions.

We will enjoy reading the reports.
