To me 4.9.2 produces lots of detail, but is not very organised (musically). Impressive hifi-vise, but musically less satisfying. 4.1.10 on the other hand is much more focused with seemingly less details. The nuances are there, but as the presentation is more coherent the different sounds do not sta...

Will call, Thomas - thanks. Not that I'm making any recommendations. I had a certified electrician install a dedicated 220V circuit that includes a totally different kind of plug that twists to lock. I then used an adapter that converts back to a normal 110V US type outlet that I plug a power strip ...

An interesting evening.... Tentative conclusion is that 4.9.3 is the current standard. Will live with this for the weekend before reverting to 4.9.2 to see if it's still my preference. Based on this, I have reverted to 4.9.3 from 4.9.4, but have yet to give it a listen... (planned for this weekend ...

Life would be terribly dull if everyone agreed on everything, and hi-fi in particular is very subjective. I'm not terribly keen on most Linn speakers, particularly the more expensive ones, but dare not say so over on the other place, though I did hear some 140s the other day and thought they were r...

Immaculate ADS/0/d in black. Still has protective plastic on screen. Comes in original Linn box with Linn Black i/c, remote, & RS232 cable - all unused, plus option of US- or unused UK power cord. Interesting that the 212s were quad wired & yet the Tundra still put in a good showing - I don't think Fredrik is a fan of multi wiring so would have been interesting to know if single wired 212s might've produced a different result, as might re-tune-dem'ing the speaker position for the different po...

Linn amps: Chakra 2200 and AV5105 (silver)
Chakra 2200 (RCA) in silver - asking $1750 + shipping in original box. This amp dates from mid 2005 and was bought ex-dem in early '09 - serial # 1028119. In decent condition cosmetically - clean front, but some scratches to the top towards the rear not visible when on a shelf. Photos available on r...

I have been using it since early on. V12 or longer. It was not until v17 and only with W7 that it is noteworthy. The way W7 handles audio is different than XP. I always used Twonky or Asset before. No difference in those sound wise. I did not take any questions as a slight. Hope I did not come acro...

Curious what's going on when jRiver is 'set to deliver 24 bit to the DS' that it'd sound better even with 16-bit source material. Clearly jRiver can't deliver any additional data as all it has to process is the original resolution... I wonder if this could be something in the DS processing similar t...

Tundra - clearly better than my 4200 which has had the benefit of Thomas' tuning tweaks. As Per A said, the Tundra just brings out details and great sound, with apparent ease... so much more going on, and all in tune, time, & control. I don't want to give the Tundra back. Now to the down side, and i...

... The reason Fredrik, anthony and others are moving away from bi-wiring to single wiring is that they have found that single wiring is more coherent and focused - the results just seem to be more musical. Bi-wiring appears to give a bigger, more "detailed" and more H-Fi sound but at the expense o...

Interesting & exciting to read the positive results, especially for 'Tundra Mono' just "using one channel of each". Were any listening tests done with bi-amped Tundras, either using the two channels of each Tundra for left & right speakers separately, or for stereo treble & bass? Maybe too early to ...

I've followed the thread with interest & would love to hear a Tundra... maybe next time I'm in Ann Arbor :) I was curious about the previously mentioned idea of setting a Linn preamp to +8dB out to Tundra, in a mixed Linn/Lejonklou amped system, to maintain levels across channels... This started me ...
