Hi Sommerfee, very intersting, so you have found the barracuda LP more musical than ES2? This is interesting also because the LP series is half the cost of ES2... My opinion on latest Cara: 17: the most musical and engaging, sounds a bit harsh 18: a bit less musical than 18, sligltly better sound 20: more musical than 18 but not tuneful as 17 and with some boomy bass 23: even more musical than 20, very nice and detailed sound but 17 is still more musical. Tried Cara 18 yesterday. 17 is more tuneful and generally more alive. 18 as more relaxed and warmy sound but musically less involving.
Cara 17=exciting and involving. Cara 18= rather boring and uninteresting (compared to 17) although better than Bute 0.9 from my memory!

Cara 18 is out. Anyone have tested it?

Tried Cara 17 today: as first impression it's not bad at all!
Not sure if it's better than Bute 0.9 or 0.6, I'll done a better listen in the next days.

Your observations are very interesting as you have a new KDS and I have an old unit. To me Bute 06 and Cara 14 are closer and Cara 14 is relatively good.
