Re: Karousel
I picked up new LP12 at my favourite Linn dealer High Fidelity in Stockholm yesterday. We did a short comparison of two Akurate spec LP12s. One with Circus and one with Karousel. I had brought a "Non Hifi" record with me "MC5 - Back In the USA". The Karousel is clearly better. Musik makes more sense...
Re: Karousel
I heard a very clear improvement in all 4 clips with the Karousel. On the Baden Powell track, which at some point is slightly chaotic with the Cirkus, it gels much better and the drums are funkier. Frank's voice is much more intimate on the Karousel and I definitely feel the melancholy. And on King...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I think the CB160 might need a service. The switch from 250 got the timing back but music has not been as involving as it should. Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I recently bought an Oehlbach Phaser, which indicates the correct phase for the appliance that you connect. I went through everything from computer, to router, switch, tv and stereo. It turned out to be a fairly big sound upgrade :-) Do the Oehlbach Phaser do anything different than a regular volta...

Re: How good are phono stages in vintage Linn preamps?
I know this is an old thread but wanted to give my input. I have used a Lejonklou modified LK1 as a preamp. It was good with a raw direct sound. Lots of fun at that time. The LK1 was used with a AV5103 preamp and the rest have been used as phono stages with a Klimax Kontrol/1. From the LK1 I moved o...

New Lingo?
https://www.linn.co.uk/sources/turntables/power-supplies#lingo I was browsing the Linn website and saw that they have a (new?) Lingo. With a system that checks the speed of the turntable every revolution. New Lingo incorporates a motor speed management system and uses digital processing technology ...

Re: EVENTS
'Focus Your Listening to the Fifth Level' lecture. In Swedish! Is there any chance we can get access to this lecture via a recording (youtube etc)? Or is it something that can only be conveyed live and in presence? It would be really interesting to take part of. We currently live 470km or a 5 hours...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
If comparing stands vs wall mounts then yes.
I prefer the stands in both clips. Charlie did you get the distance to the back wall right? The Kans sound a bit "punchy" to me on the wall brackets.

But actions speak louder than words so here are two clips, Clip 1 all Linn Longwell cables, Clip 2 Lejonklou Volex cables on KRadikal and SINGularities. If you would like more than one instrument to make your judgement a fiddle joins in right about the 1:30 mark. I will have a full loom for the sho...

Where have you found such detailed information of the loudspeaker units? Just on forum threads, such as Pink Fish Media, plus there is the serial number page that's been knocking around for years. Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Finally got all three main Kan 1 variants. The newly purchased black ash pair have had their grills removed for some reason - It doesn't look like any work was done to them, so I'm curious why they were removed in the first place. Rosewood = Scanspeak d2008/8512 tweeter and Kef b110/sp1003 Teak = H...
