*SOLD* 2 Pairs of 3 metre Lejonklou-assembled K400 + Knekt
I have a surplus of speaker cables right now so would like to sell my K400 pairs. This isn't any old K400 (!), but assembled & terminated by one Fredrik Lejonkou using Linn Knekt plugs & his assembly/soldering techniques that have been honed using tune-dem over many years. I have 2 pairs of 3m long ...
Hi Rudy - I think I've posted before what I thought of the Kikkin 2.2 vs the AK (in my case an AK/0/D) but I'll repeat. I found the Kikkin 2.2 much more neutral than the AK/0/D, which tends to add signature 'Linn sound' which to my ears tends to be a bit enhanced in the mid to lows - almost 'rounded...

My theory is that Solos work better with Linn speakers (heard 350Ps, 242s), but I've always preferred Monos partnered with other manufacturers speakers. In fact I've not really liked Solos with anything else I've heard but I think the Mono, due to its neutrality, is more versatile. Just my personal ...

I had mk1 212s on shelves and they were rather disappointing even considering the flexibility of adding/removing the bungs at the back. I found them better with some distance to the wall and I gather positioning is pretty critical with them to get the best out of them so having them on shelves reall...

Quick update. I'm very close now to my ideal settings. First off on the Klimax Kontrol I've been trying higher torques on the earth bolt and it sounds initially impressive but is ultimately fatiguing. I've returned back to 2.0Nm. KDS - earth torque makes an enormous difference to the sound. I'm not ...

Absolutely Nicolav! I'm taking about a day with each setting. I lived with the low torqued earth nut for many months. I'll tell you the story behind all this. It never sounded right from new. It used to get pretty hot too. I tried torquing bolts and it sounded better but was very inconsistent. Sound...

I missed a word above - it's a black-toothed washer on the KK. I guess the conductivity would be quite different to the silver one? The connector tag on the KDS to the Dynamik may be a different material to the KK too. I'm actually astounded how critical this one connection is! Particularly on the K...

Apologies, I'm talking to myself on this thread. I've been testing settings with the earth bolt on both the KDS/1 & KK/2 and it's quite interesting. I've been using a setting of 2Nm on both but I've realised today that this seems to lead to great inconsistency in quality of sound on the KDS. I've te...

Been fiddling again and revised my previous settings. I'm finding I prefer the circuit boards with my torquedriver at 0.9Nm. I haven't really tried too many earth bolt settings. I'm sticking with ThomasOK's suggestion back in this thread of 2.0Nm - I'm too chicken to go any higher than that! KDS/1 M...

Nice write-up ozzzy! I bet your expectations had been raised so high over the last year or two over the Tundra that I fully expected you to be bitterly disappointed - glad you feel the opposite! I lived with 2x 4200s for a couple of years, passive & active, with 212s (all mk 1 gear). It never did th...

Is it as documented here? http://www.cleverhome.com.au/user/Linn-Akurate-2200-3200-4200-Amplifier-owner-manual.pdf The diagrams are a little misleading. Unless there's a hole in the side of the barrel to accept a 4mm plug - but I haven't seen that on Linn gear. Sorry if I'm wrong but it just doesn't...

Do you mean clamp the 4mm plug in the screw terminal? That sounds like a recipe for crushing and damaging the plug - I strongly recommend you don't try that particularly as they tend to be made from soft metal. As for whether it sounds better - I've never tried it to be honest! Would be quite amusin...

*SOLD* Lejonklou Kikkin 2.2
Reluctantly putting my Kikkin 2.2 up for sale. I bought this new in August 2011 to replace my AK/0/D - a significant improvement in my opinion. This is a UK model in black. Condition is perfect. I'll include a small All-in-one remote to control volume with. Located in Twickenham, SW London Price £37...

I didn't phrase that very well ... "Interesting comments on 212s - pretty much exactly how think of them!" should be quite seperate from "I never felt an emotional contact with mine despite them being, well, accurate." and not leading on from it. From your comments this is what I was agreeing with: ...

I know what you mean. I had one of the simpler aktiv setups in the shape of 6100/Ninkas. Even that took quite a bit of attention before it was equal to or better in all respects to the same amp/speaker combo in passive setup. In other words, until all elements of the aktiv setup were addressed, the...

Seeing as we're on this forum, would it be rude to suggest passive Tundras? A couple of Monos would cost roughly the same as a KCT/D and (in my opinion anyway) sound better. A Tundra Stereo is a worth a try and considerably cheaper than any of these options! [edit] brain fade, I didn't notice anthon...
Been searching for decent resolution pictures of the back of the speaker. This is the best I can find but it clearly shows just an XLR input.

There something I don't quite get: does digital crossover imply that the Akubarik needs a digital input rather than analog? If so, won't that exclude a lot of Linn gear being used with the speaker? Certainly my KDS/KK1 as they don't have any digital outs... Well it would have to imply A->D->A in th...
