Re: The conclusion of digital volume regulation

I think changing patterns of vibration are playing tricks on us all. Therefore opinions differ.

(It does not help either that we all listen differently.)

The very smallest change of anything in my setup creates a new “sound” and a different portrayal of the music (when using my digital source).

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I can recall the founder of VIVA Audio, Amedeo, while setting up a complete system one of our dem rooms at the time would use wool pad sheets that he would cut to size on the fly -adding, stacking, twisting, removing again- on all the components after initial setup to fine tune the system to some p...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Just remember that any setup is different and I do think that not using a conventional preamp makes my system more vulnerable to unwanted vibration.
Then again digital is weird. :-)

I just removed one small piece of felt that supports the powercable just before it enters the CD player. It is now back in place again. :-)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Not N! M is for Music - elements hold together, and support the rhythm & music. N is just not - it feels exaggerated and disjointed with no connection between voice and percussion, losing the music in the process. I enjoyed M; felt like stopping N almost immediately - surprising, and not had a nega...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I listened again (downloading the clips) and I have changed my mind. I find the Nait50 setup more to my liking. So much so that I will try K20 speaker cables again.

Not trying to sway the consensus here. Just count me as the odd one out. :-)

The sound of Linn today:

Many will like this but it is not for me.

We all have to listen and decide. The same goes for the LP12 50……….. but maybe not an option.
