Oh good - that's what I thought! It almost sounds a fraction louder with them on to me. I've kept the lights off til now but am pleasantly surprised.

Here's a silly question! Has anyone chosen to check for any sound quality difference with the Tundra stereo with the front LEDs on or off? I've just been trying this and I've managed to convince myself there could be a difference. I'm not saying what I think sounds better though. Would be interested...

+10! Everyone's being quiet - maybe they're all stunned at how good it is, or maybe it's really awful (unlikely I know!). Looking forward to Fredriks's UK visits in February.

It's funny, I don't really notice the poorer sound quality when the Tundra is cold any more. When the amp was new it was really noticeable. I always turn the amps when not in use too so you'd think I'd hear it on every listen.

Of course, but nevertheless I would still audition first before deciding to replace my 2 Tundra Stereos.

Anyone had the chance to compare two Tundra Monos vs two Tundra Stereos?

Interestingly, and staying off-topic, from a musical & emotional point of view I think I got more enjoyment from my Renew than I do now with my KDS/1. I'm also starting to feel the KDS/1 is the limiting factor in my system. Tundra Mono (I currently use 2 Stereos) sounds like it's going to reinforce ...

Oh I forgot to add more of my opinion - I find the KCT maybe the equal of the Tundra stereo, but quite coloured in its sound, which I'm not so keen on. It definitely has a character of its own, almost round and fruity in a way (!) But also laid-back. The Tundra stereo on the other hand is quite tran...

Well done sandgrown! I'm waiting to hear the Tundra mono but it is going to have to be very good to make me want to replace my 2 Tundra stereos which I'm using with just one output of each single wired. I've tried biamped but after initially marvelling at the extra detail I found it preferable just ...

Good post Azazello. I don't think it's unreasonable to discuss the reasons behind differences in e.g cables though is it? I'd really like to get an understanding of just why seemingly illogical differences can actually be perceived by the ear.

16W is quite good actually! I borrowed a PS Audio P5 recently and it indicated a load of > 100W for my 2 Tundras plus KDS/1 & KK/1. Curiously it was the same load out of standby and playing music (at not high volumes) as it was in standby. I'm not 100% convinced I trust those measurements...

Worthy of a new thread I guess but any recommendations for a digital source that's better than a Klimax DS? I guess not too many people have heard all of them in able to form a judgment, and subjectivity does become a factor... I do love my KDS but can see there could be room for improvement.

I'm not enjoying 4.11.2 as much as 4.10.2. It has great clarity but is just not so enjoyable to listen to to my ears, less musical and rather 'digital'.

Good point. Ninkas are lovely too and you could probably sell at about the same amount you paid for them.

I'd go for 109s if you want to stick with Linn. 212s are good but you'd probably get 1st gen ones for that price and they can be rather unforgiving of amplification.

I'm trying 4.10.2 now. Been using 4.1.10 for a while as I've been finding Davaar 9 a bit harsh. First impressions are that 10 is sounding absolutely fantastic.

You are absolutely right, but all Linn products including firmware are developed by tune-dem. So the question is, why has the end consumer to do the comparisons regarding tune-dem? I'm not sure the Linn Tuners (is that what Linn calls them?) get a look in when it comes to firmware. I can't recall t...

Hi Fredrik - will the Tundra mono have XLR inputs or stay with just RCA like the original Tundra'?
