Re: New Linn Forum

I heard rumors that Gilad was not amused about some discussions, e.g. Space Optimization, that did make the product (and hence Linn) not look too good. J Feedback on limitations and product suggestions are extremely valuable, making the products better! Rest be sure...you always have unhappy custom...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

Just arrived back from X-Fi in the Netherlands. Linn were very busy and conducted permanently demos around 20 min, typical tune dem A-A-B, all filled up to the last place. They showed the module with XLR and RCA outputs. In the middle of this module is a small plastic box which contains the DAC, qu...

Selekt cannot be seen as a change of market focus or as an abandonment of enthusiast customers. Correct, Selekt cannot be seen as a change of market focus - as the abandonment of enthusiast customers happened many years earlier. I'm not sure how you reach that conclusion. Well, you had the answer i...

Meanwhile, other manufacturers are paying attention to the enthusiast market, with an approach that focuses on preserving rather than processing the music, and provides an open forum... Wait on Linn if you Selekt; a good few of us have already elected not to do so. There's room for both approaches,...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

I said the source was compromised because its pretty well known that a ds is a better source than a dsm. Those are being discontinued, so in that respect these aren't as good as the sources being phased out. Although I see them as part of the same technological/manufacturing trend, the introduction...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

A lot of raving about the modularity in this thread.
Only me that don't like that?

With modules, a lot of connections and drop of performance.
However, I understand it make sense in an "all-in-all" product adding flexibility.

On a related topic (to this thread), does anyone else feel that there just isn't so much to talk about these days? 10-15 years ago, there was a period of excitement and many interesting discussions and debates as so many hi-fi nutters were suddenly able to communicate with one another. Personally I'd be very disappointed to learn that they took the forum down to prevent leaking of a product announcement. Re: Linn forum down?

My take on this is - "speculation is interesting, but normally people read too much into everything".
We'll just have to wait and see.

Regardless, Linn is making a huge mistake to put the forum on standby and worse, blaming "temporarily offline for essential maintenance".

Nice to read this 5y old thread again Oh, I don't have it myself, but 2 friends with PS1000 and SR325e's do and they're very happy with it. Re: Where do we go from here?

Well, if I make a more powerful amplifier than Tundra Mono, it will also need to sound better. I understand that some like to play really loud, but louder and less grunty (or musical) won't do. More powerful and better is a challenge. It would be expensive, mainly due to the power supplies. A quadr...

Together with JBL 3677 is Klangedang the most musical speaker I ever heard. Lejonklou is a retailer so send Fredrik a mail. Info here (use google translate) http://www.klangedang.se You have a number of alternatives regarding filter, stand and finish. Look in the price list. http://www.tonlaget.com/...

Re: New Naim network players

Quick report. Heard the base player (3-4k something with Naim integrated and Neat SX2) and it was quite ok. But without comparing, hard to judge.
For sure not bad but expected as Linn and Naim streamers always perform a good step better than other players.
