Re: Tundra 2?

Just thought I'd say that I very much look forward to this happening, and would be near the front of the queue to have the upgrade done once you finish working it out!

Good luck with the development.

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?

I don't recall seeing an answer to this question earlier in the thread, but please point me at an answer if there is one... If you need more than 2.48m, is it preferable to go to a multiple of this number, or or there no particular evidence for that? I may well be moving house this year, and in some...

Re: New forum

My view is that I'd prefer the desktop version, but could live with the mobile version if others prefer it.

I really would prefer not to have Tapatalk. Several other forums use it and I always have to decline the offer to use it instead of browsing normally.

Re: New forum

I agree with Matt, and find it very frustrating that even when I click "Request Desktop Site" in Chrome on my iPhone I still get the mobile version.

I use an iPhone 6, it has a big screen and I'm very comfortable zooming in if I need to. I really don't need a simplified version of the site...

Re: Opinions on the new LEJONKLOU website

I'll have a proper look later. Looks nice though, is my first reaction.

Appears to be much more optimised for a mobile phone than the old one. That can be annoying at times on some other sites, where I prefer to force use of the desktop version, but I'll see how it works here.

If you don't want to build one, two other options I've heard identified as more musical than a standard NAS are the Naim Unitiserv and the one mentioned here:

The nice thing about the Exaktbox is that it's just a firmware update to change the speaker mapping. If a customer has 212s and wants to compare them with Akudoriks, both options can be driven by the same Exaktbox, and the dealer can connect it to the customer's own 212s or the demo Akudoriks. Much ...

I would ask the dealer with the 'best' Akudoriks to set up a home demo for you. Actually, having heard the demo I did yesterday, that wouldn't be my first step. I'd have a listen at a dealer that knows exactly how to set them up best, knows his room etc. Ian at BillyVee, where I had my demo, estima...

I was amazed at how much difference there was between Exakt (unoptimised), Exakt (calculated optimisation) and Exakt (Dealer tuned optimisation). The last was the one where it really snapped into place. The others were good, but the settings which Ian had taken hours to work out as optimal for the r...

I think that option 9 is now the best I've ever heard 242s, a place which was previously held by Dynamiked Solos passive (which I preferred to aktiv on Akurate amps). So the dealer compared Exakt with an analogue system without pre? Did the Solo system contained a KK or not? The comparison I had ye...

It would be interesting to compare 242s driven:

Passive on Solos
Aktiv on Akurate amps
Exakt Aktiv on Majik amps

Budgets not that dissimilar for all three...

Two slight clarifications on my last post. There was actually a step 4a, where the speakers were moved from the optimal position to a new position right back against the wall (which was noticeably worse) before the the position correction was then applied in step 5. Also, the difference between KEDS...

Just thought I'd add to this thread to say that I had a couple of hours demoing Exakt 242s today, which was very interesting. Worked through a series of systems, each of which was an improvement (albeit of different scales) as follows: 1 - ADSM/1 - Akurate amps with analogue aktiv cards (gains set f...

No. Sagatun has very little power...

In a car analogy, Sagatun is the steering wheel, pedals, gear shift and dashboard. Tundra is the motor. If that makes any sense.
Would it help the Tundra stereo then?

I tried many variations. The closest to 4 Monos is that I tried the 2250 into the rest of the speaker and Monos for the IsoBass and that wasn't sufficient. But the reverse was fine and where I'm at. Okay. The 2250 is nowhere near as good as the Monos (or a Tundra Stereo) and since the treble/array ...

Ah, so did you try using 4 Monos for a pair of Akubariks? (2 for the bass, 2 for the rest of the speakers)?

Swapping a 2250 for a Tundra Stereo does sound like an optimal solution. A 2250 is much cheaper and I doubt a Tundra Stereo would work since hooking up a Tundra Mono just to the IsoBass doesn't offer the sound and uumph that the 2250 does. Not sure I understand what you're trying to say there. Your...

Sounds like you need to swap the 2250 for a Tundra Stereo on the bass, to keep the gain matched.

Two questions.

You mention warmup time. How long do you feel the Monos now take to be fully warmed up?

Secondly, is there any reason why a heat sink like this wouldn't improve performance on the Tundra stereo too?
