Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
I met Roy once, I think it was in 1990. He was an inspiring high energy guy, that’s for sure. He arranged a blind (single blind, he played on the decks behind a screen) demo of Planar 3 versus Linn Axis. He was very annoyed when Axis got nearly all the votes. Funny, just like when a member hear pos...

Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
Don’t quote me but I heard around £9K for the Naia, also heard there will be a pre-production model at The Bristol Show with full release in early summer. At that price I would hold off on any LP12 SE upgrades.

Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
More recent Rega "Kool-Aid" I saw over on PF if any of you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aNyoQKAs4E&t=114s Roy mentions a new production model of the Naiad that I understand is coming out next year. He said it will perform as well as the Naiad for a much reduced cost. Looking for...

Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
If I had spent some time with a P10 and found it less musical than a Basik LP12 I certainly would not have one in my store taking up space physically and financially. If it was indeed better it would certainly throw a wrench into the business model of honestly selling Linn LP12’s and upgrades depend...

Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
I wonder if any Linn dealers that also carry Rega have a P10 on hand to compare with an LP12.

Enjoyed that, thank you for sharing. I can think of someone who posts here that would enjoy that reveal.

Re: LP12 Bounce Measurement
I would think the weight of the iPhone on the platter would throw off the level of the platter much different from the weight of a record and have an adverse effect on the bounce.

Re: Karousel
I am curios why you’re asking these questions, John. It seems like you’re trying to find out whether some combinations are better than others? Or what the folks have in common that prefer Cirkus over Karousel? I’m just curious. I’m just trying to get a better insight to those who didn’t get on with...
Re: Karousel
I bought a Majik LP12 in the Karousel promo but had a dem too, using Akurate decks. So you had a dem between two Akurate decks, I assume the only variable was the bearing/subplatter and you preferred the Cirkus. How did you end up with a Karousel then? If this is already documented somewhere maybe ...
Re: Karousel
Just curious, how is the Karousel going down now? Everyone happy? Torques sorted? Anyone changed sides? Everyone of PFM and Naim forums love it. I don’t keep up with Linn WAM to know. I seem to recall not many disliking it; myself, beck, u252agz, Fredrik and possibly Spankko but not sure. Lego had ...
Re: Karousel
I learned a long time ago it's not a race -it's a long term mental health working hobby- and it's super easy to loose the tune once you've found it in "your system", all changes should be done one at a time followed by a week or two of break in/listening to achieve the best system integration & out...

Re: LP12 Bounce
Is the armboard straight in the plinth when the arm cable is disconnected? Yes it is. I setup the suspension with the arm cable unplugged from the tonearm. If the tonearm cable is properly dressed, it should have no effect on the suspension when plugged back into the tonearm. https://youtu.be/43_lQ...

Re: LP12 Bounce
I’d love to know what the trick is to get that armboard on Keel’s perfectly parallel, if in fact there is one. This would be helpful to know for next time I need to strip down the deck to install something like a new bearing. For now, my setup is perfect, sounding wonderful and the arm board is para...

Re: LP12 Bounce
I had my LP12 on the jig a couple weeks ago and when finished took a video of the suspension from the point of view I have when adjusting it. It also plays well while giving it a light bounce while playing a record. You might not be able to see the movement but the suspension is still moving the du...

Re: LP12 Bounce
Many thanks to Mike for the topic. It gives me food for thought. All the years I never had problems to set up the LP12 correctly in terms of musicality. Since the Keel has been installed, I can't get the arm board to align in parallel at the same time and get a correct bounce. This is affecting the...

Re: LP12 Bounce
happy for you but also kinda jealous as I never got my greenstreet audio bouncing nicely but its probably not the greenstreet audio‘s fault. Did you ever had a chance to compare to a real Keel? If yes what do you think about the difference. After twelve years with the Greenstreet, I think it’s the ...

Re: LP12 Bounce
Thanks for the positive comments. This is the best I’ve gotten the suspension since I can remember. I took each spring/grommet off one at a time and cleaned them thoroughly with a toothbrush and Dawn detergent and placed them back in place. Working from a very level jig to a level resting place it m...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E
Does the VM95 stylus work on a Linn K9 body? Yes! Worst case, you have to strip some of the plastic with a carpet knife. Some users even report better sound quality than the K9 and K18 II with the SH stylus. I would not choose the SH but the ML or the basik E. Some sellers even sell it officially a...
