Re: GIGAPORT HD/HD+
The main reason to support 96k or higher is to be able to use FLAC files with these sample rates. If 96k is better compared to 48k is another question but I agree that the value of high sample rates seems low. I'm using GIGAPORT HD+ with Asus Thinker board S and Volumio up to 96k so it's possible to...

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
After a forum SW update a while ago I can no longer see the last posts on the Board Index page (https://www.lejonklou.com/forum/index.php). It is possible for desktop view and before the update this was also possible on my mobile (Android).
Is it possible to get this back?

Re: TMV´s system
OK, good proposal! I have now updated the first post. I did upgrade from Kinki 2 -> Slipsik 7. I was thinking of upgrading to a Gaio and not Slipsik because I had a feeling that Slipsik had a bit analytical HiFi sound. However, with Slipsik 7 there is only music. For sure a lot of information but in...

Re: Thoughts around a Lejonklou Streamer
After a Lejonklou demo in Göteborg we discussed Hakai and DACs. Fredrik was not too interested in making a Lejonklou USB DAC because "the streamer is much more important, the DAC is as the pickup in a vinyl playback system". But you are doing phono amps so why not do a killer DAC to be used with dif...

Re: TMV´s system
A few upgrades. Lingo 1 -> 3 A very nice upgrade for the money. Easier to follow the music, rhythm and bass. Kinki 2 -> Slipsik 7 Lovely upgrade! Improves everything and connects you to the music. Linn Classik Movie 05/D + Tundra 2 -> Boazu 1 Such a good amp! Only upgrade option is Mono, and that is...
Re: Slipsik 7
I listened to Slipsik 7 two times before buying it. First time I compared to Gaio 2 that I was thinking of upgrading to but Slipsik 7 pulled out the music so much better. Second time I brought my Kinki 2 to my dealer and also compared to a Slipsik 5.1. Kinki 2 was a bit dull compared to Slipsik 5.1 ...

Re: Klångedang T1
I have exactly the same speaker (same SHW filter) and the bass is really really good. But of course not as deep as bigger speakers.
With the upgraded filter the bass is even better and the music is easier to follow.

Re: EVENTS
May I ask what sources did you use at the demo? Vinyl: Pro-Ject RPM 9 Carbon (not bad)+ the very cool JERN 12WS (I liked them) Agree with all comments about Gaio 2 vs Slipsik 7. I have a Boazu so I will be fine if i buy the Slipsik :) Digital: Meridian 808v6 (or similar) + PCM fact.8 (?) Unclear ho...
Re: Slipsik 7
Why do you say "Perhaps the final version of Slipsik?" Do you feel that a better MM phono stage in the future must have very big design changes to perform better an therefore Slipsik replacement will have a different name? Since Thomas O'Keefe can (and will) do the upgrade at US labor prices I think...

Re: Recommendations for wireless headset?
I would suggest an analog rf wireless headphone. My linn dealer (tonlaget.com) was quite happy with this a few years ago but the model is probably not sold anymore. It was not these but something similar (maybe akg) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SENNHEISER-HDR400-Wireless-Headphones-T400-Transmitter-Ch...

Re: HAKAI
Interesting Fredrik, Ethernet might be a better interface generating less (harmful) interference compared to USB and SATA. IP data might be more random vs the musical signal and this could make the interference less harmful?

Re: HAKAI
I don't have an LSNAS and therefore haven't compared it to a NAS built on HAKAI hardware. My suspicion is that the HAKAI NAS will outperform an LSNAS, but I might be wrong in that assumption. The software used makes a difference as well as the hardware. And I don't have the knowledge to fine tune t...

Re: New LP12 Urika II phonostage and Lingo 4
The transition from Urika1 to Urika2 is a first rate marketing trick from Linn to bind customers in the Linn system. Why is this a marketing trick? Linn is going Exakt and with digital RIAA they can improve the performance at the same cost. (Everyone might not agree it's better, but that's another ...

Forum rules are very clear: "If you do not agree with the validity of the Tune Method OR regard a different method of evalutation as more important or valid, this forum is not for you." Without the moderation this forum would just end up as just another hifi forum. Still I don't think it's necessary...

Re: Analog vs. Digital, revisited
Matt, it was an example to show that DSD and PCM are not the same signal.
And if yo compare DSD128 with PCM 32b/384kHz (or something) you will get the same.

Updated with a Tundra 2. T2 improves everything. Everything! Feels like I´m in the club. Outside...

Re: Tundra 2 power amplifier
Can 2.0 be upgraded to 2.0A? In theory, yes. But as not only the main board but also the casing differs, it becomes very expensive. Drilling the old case can easily damage the paint and that would look ugly. Replacing the case is a lot of work. I just don't feel that the musical improvement is wort...
