Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

Spannko wrote: 2024-02-29 15:46 The actual number given to the maximum volume setting is pretty irrelevant. It could be 42, 78, 100 or any number in between.
The manual says that the volume goes up in 1dB steps from 0db to 78dB with the limit in place and 0dB to 100db with it removed.

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

When listening to music, I usually stay a couple of dB below the max with the safety limit on, because that's the level that brings the most enjoyment. So for my use, the additional available volume isn't necessary. Also, I would not want to take Boazu up to the point where it clips or otherwise deg...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

The ghost of a possibility of another Boazu version got me thinking: what would be in my wishlist for V2?? Well I love the following about Boazu: 1. The music 2. No source selection 3. The colour coded volume 4. The mute behaviour and remote control features ... in that order. What do I think is mis...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Listening on headphones from phone browser while travelling on a tram to work .... I was torn between B and C.

B has a more engaging sound - it immediately grabbed my attention - but after a couple of listens I found C draws me into the music more.

So my preference:
1. C
2. B
3. A

Re: Boazu vs Tundra 2.2 (with various preamps)

For clarification, I've never removed the upper volume limit when listening to Boazu, so my comment relates to listening up to the 'child safety' limit.

Re: Boazu vs Tundra 2.2 (with various preamps)

I found with Hakai as source that it could get a bit raw when I turned the volume up to max, so I suspect what you're hearing is the limitations of the source, not the amplification.

Re: Boazu vs Tundra 2.2 (with various preamps)

With Källa or Axis as source I can take Boazu as loud as it will go and there's no loss of magic. If anything, it just gets better as it gets louder.

Re: Is the Netgear GS 108 Safe?

It's very important to secure the internet router and gateway. Make sure that you have changed the administrator password and the firmware is up to date. Make sure at all your WiFi access points are secured with non default passwords and the most secure authorisation that your router supports. Disab...

Re: Is the Netgear GS 108 Safe?

I couldn't find any posts regarding Netgear GS108T.

Even if it does have security flaws, it's not going to create security weaknesses for those of us using it with an internet router, since the internet router provides the defenses against external attack, not the Netgear.

Re: Pete's System

Some time ago I noticed that the K400 'jumpers' I was using in addition to the connecting plates to connect the three pairs of passive drive inputs on my Espeks were fraying. I removed them for inspection and they pretty well fell apart. I replaced the plates without the K400 and it was immediately ...

What a cool experiment.

How did you arrive at the position of the super tweeter? Does it make a difference if you move it forward or backward?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Do you have the speakers on the long wall? My room is a complex shape as the whole floor is open plan. The wall behind the speakers is recessed by about 60cm. This was designed to reduce the intrusion into the room of the speakers. This wall is shorter than the distance to the facing wall. However,...

Thanks everyone for your help and kind comments. My wife and cat also prefer without! I wasn't sure, but I think as Spannko observes, this is a case of being distracted by the sound away from the tune. Normally I am happy to listen to the music anywhere in the room, but with the panels in place I fi...
