Play Loud!
There are albums which tells you on a sticker “Play Loud”. Most friends visiting they ‘re playing their music very soft, let say at 7.30, like Muzak. Boring, not interesting to me when it is really about music, more than musical wallpaper To me the real listening of music start at position 9 O’Clock...

Now listening on the sofa to his Guts album. Appreciating both tonite’s live gig and old vinyl album.

Re: The value, appreciation of music in younger days and at some age
Tonight enjoyed a gig of the Edinburgh based Young Fathers at Paradiso Amsterdam. A gig with hypnotizing rhythmic energy, which reminds me of The Clash, Specials, Therapy? With a hint of Highland, desert and jungle. Audience danced away. A pleasant surprise off the sofa from home. And tomorrow off t...

image.jpg A new experience with Soundeck, Platter Mat, 4 mm. My older 2.5 mm Soundeck performs already very good, this new one performs even better. Intersubject A/B tunedem listening with an audio friend resulted in even more secure, more definition, more air and depth, broader soundstage, more fl...

Re: The value, appreciation of music in younger days and at some age
Interesting contributions by Pete, Thomas and Charlie. I wonder if there are others on this forum to share their experiences with listening to music and being involved otherwise over the years, depending on age, on zeitgeist, probably influenced by developing technical music carriers/sources. Or is ...

The value, appreciation of music in younger days and at some age
Hi Friends, The recent death of David Crosby and Jeff Beck triggered me a question. The joy of music in my younger days I think was the outcome of a common peer group experience, we escaping from rather narrow social life those days, dancing together away on random played 45 rpm singles, the joy now...

I would say using an adapter will do its work well and your Slipsik will sound as it is supposed to do.

In the words of the great philosopher W C Fields: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it." Does the Slipsik 7 work well with a Nagaoka MP-500? Hi mbabst! I haven't tested the Nagaoka MP-500, it seems to be an interesting cartridge. The specifications indicate a good match with Slipsik 7 (or any Slipsik for that matter). Cartridge load and output level are perfectly fine. Almost 4 years l...

Re: Video about 10 iconic turntables.
Funny that after the moderator intervention the dispute of , Linn versus Rega, LP12 versus P10 has stopped. Sign of a non-discussion? Discussion with a wrong focus, focus on sytems instead of tune or melody? Probably a need for a more open, broader carrier discussion with focus on musically delivera...

I just installed Dr. Fuss Netzteil for controlling my Lenco 76/S. Platter turning now stable at 33.34. Another 0.05% to go. Wonderful tune and sound. I leave the LP12 vs P10 dispute for what it is, loving my Lenco.
