Re: Forum issues are discussed here
What would a certain short fingered vulgarian* say/do about this? We have to be very attuned to any form of censorship, and it should be rooted out and fought vigorously. I don't live under the luxury of the first amendment , as the majority here don't as well, but it remains the gold standard. I m...

Yep, the iPhone 7 does appear to pick up more music than the 4S. Nice track.

The only thing you can find out with that comparison, beck, is whether your arm is broken or OK. Your arm is OK. The first clip is better. +1. Not to mention that the second clip missed out on the child's voice at the end of the recording when it was clearly there on the first one. ;-) And thank yo...

Re: Tiger Paw Tranquility
Interesting device. It sounds like it might work. I'm a little concerned about any damping effect the rubber O rings have on the inner platter although it is certainly less than I would expect from any adhesive. However, this is not a unique application of the idea. The Continuum Caliburn used oppos...

Re: Absolute Bargains!
Interesting. The aptitlig has been mentioned by others as a good shelf to put under your Hi-FI. Although I have my doubts as to its usage under other things compared to the Harmonihyllan shelves I haven't actually tried it yet. But I can see how it might work fine under an LP12. I'm sure bolting it ...

Re: JBL 4645C
I just received word that my Marchand crossover shipped. I look forward to seeing if it will be musically superior to the Dahlquist. I ended up getting a different model than the one I had originally intended to. This model doesn't allow you to change frequencies on the fly but is actually much more...
Re: JBL 3677
Worse yet, apparently JBL doesn’t measure all that accurately either, as the woofer on the second one was a bit lower yet than on the first leaving a wider band of black on the top. How much? On my pair it's about 1mm difference. I think the positioning can be adjusted slightly when you mount the w...

Re: Anyone heard the new Dynaudio Contours?
I can't really give you a report of comparisons as I haven't had time to do so. However, we will be carrying the entire Contour line and we do have the 20 on display. So far I have to say that I feel it sounds quite good and has pretty impressive bass perfromance for a stand mount speaker. We don't ...

Re: Tundra Mono Tarandus
I have had a couple of chances to hear what Tarandus can do to the Tundra Mono2s now having upgraded a number of them, including the three that I use in my system. The first pair I upgraded I did at the same time. I listened to a specific Steely Dan track the night before and then again the next eve...

As long as it is the later version of the KK with the mono volume control circuit they will play at the same level with the same numerical volume setting. Earlier KK units were 10dB lower on level at the same number.

Well, time for me to kill a few birds with one stone. Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp
I fully agree, the Boazu is indeed a remarkable piece. Congratulations Fredrik! Before I go further I want to apologize for my near absence from the forum. I've been even more absent from the Linn forum. It has been quite busy at the store with five LP12s, a few needing considerable work, a pair of ...

Re: Gaio bass-shy?
I haven't done this comparison so I can't speak from actual experience. However, in my experience the bass on the Gaio is very good (and yes, that of the Slipsik is even better). The bass also improves in depth and detail with burn in so if it's a new unit you'll probably notice an improvement with ...

Re: Linn Krystal
I have not actually had the opportunity to mount one of the Krystal cartridges yet so I don't have a precise torque for it. However, you can extrapolate from other cartridges with aluminum bodies as I expect the torque should be in the same range. Two different Lyra cartridges with "hard-anodized" a...

Anybody know where you can get one of these in the US? In 10 days time we can order from Allied Elec: http://www.alliedelec.com/-mpp15-12v-med/70707180/ (that was the Allied part # mentioned on the Linn thread) I've been meaning to get one myself...
