Re: Superkikkin
Wow: considering the SM shoes the SK was filling, and the enjoyment it's delivering, that's praise indeed! .. I can say that [Superkikkin] sounds quite wonderful. .. I had a customer who really wanted to buy my personal Sagatun Monos so I sold them... I put my personal Giella ∏ in the system. It was...

Re: Network Issues (was: Källa loses IP addresses)
You could try changing the reserved IP on the disappearing Kalla... Try something ending between .200 & .250

Re: Network Issues (was: Källa loses IP addresses)
Easy(?) to try:
Rename one Kalla see if the problem goes away
(they do have different reserved IPs, don't they?)
If that doesn't resolve it
Swap the switches see if the problem stays with the 108

Re: Network Issues (was: Källa loses IP addresses)
Thanks guys I wish I understood a little bit more about networks - I’m always impressed with the knowledge base on the forum. I only have one router but two wi fis , one provided by the virgin router and the other by my BT mesh units , which my Kallas connect to . I’m not sure what the ‘DHCP reserv...

Re: Network Issues (was: Källa loses IP addresses)
Quick question regarding one of my Netgear GS 108T switches. On my Kalla downnstairs - I keep losing the Kalla on the network overnight, and have to turn off and on again the GS 108T. This was happening on my previous GS 108 T until it packed up completely. However this is a new unit and after a ho...

Re: General Discussion about Källa
I thought Kalla was a Protokol device. Källa does not use Airplay ™! Källa's communication protocol is however compatible. Thannko Spannko :) I thought about a comment to that effect in response to Matt, but couldn't immediately find the quote, and the article limiting it to just a couple of apps, ...

Re: General Discussion about Källa
From another forum: "Video from Darko shows that if your app supports AirPlay 2 and the streamer or speaker you are sending your data to supports AirPlay 2 then that CD quality 16/44.1 lossless file you thought you were listening to is actually being compressed to AAC 256 lossy before it is sent…. ...

Re: Charlie1's System
Finally found some 109s that I like and can now understand why other folks rate them. Fourth time lucky! Very nice match with Lejonklou electronics too. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/70lywob7zmdqul0cj18l9/20231004_134527.mp4?rlkey=ddifingvlqn6jsjxmvlbrl7ye&dl=0 Are you still positioning them, and ...

Re: Recommended network components
The AmpliFi HD units have been unavailable for some time and don't look to be coming back (the US store doesn't even list AmpliFi units and the Canadian store shows the HD unit as sold out, other stores show it as out of stock or back-ordered). Has anyone tried other mesh network senders and receiv...

Re: Recommended network components
... Has anyone tried other mesh network senders and receivers (Netgear, TP Link, Eero, etc.) to see if there is a suitable replacement? It would be nice to have something else to recommend. I believe Azazello used Asus to good(?) effect - https://www.lejonklou.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=64108#p64108...

Re: Tundra Mono 3
Yes - Marco managed to locate a new pair so I went for it. Before Brexit I just used to send the units to Fredrik. Now it’s quite a convoluted process and takes much longer. From what Thomas and Marco have said, I’m sure I would have been just as pleasantly shocked by the upgraded ones. My monos ar...

Re: Superkikkin
The two inputs on Superkikkin are selected with the switch. The reason for this is that it keeps the circuit optimised in terms of power consumption, which makes it sound better than if remote controlled switches and associated circuitry had been used... Can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Jus...

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
We need to find the right balance, and avoid being exclusive. I agree, let us talking about finding the right balance. As a member here I was absolutely displeased to get attacked with "argumentum ad hominem" by a troll or spammer after I told him something about what we think here about musicality...

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
I think the more the forum settings are for prevention of troll attacks the less is the workload for moderators. Locking of old threads for newbies is directed to do prevention since the troll can not post there and then there is no need for the moderator to react. Further I see no issue for newbie...

Re: Is there a “best” test track?
If doing A/B comparisons, I’d rather use a song I’m not too familiar with otherwise it’s too easy to fill in the missing bits because you’re so familiar with the piece. Could argue the same in reverse against using a set test track: familiarity could lead to a more detail oriented assessment, liste...

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
If it's easy - just a few settings in phpBB - and unobtrusive except, intentionally, to new members*, then I'm not completely against the idea. I just question the effort vs effectiveness vs extent of the problem... and if we only apply it to older threads, not current, that wouldn't prevent the pro...

Re: Is there a “best” test track?
Curious: haven't used it as test track, but have heard it *many* times in a variety of environments & systems, including just now on my mobile... Always enjoyed it, but never thought it sounded particularly different, or elicited a different level of musical connection depending on the situation to ...

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
On another thread Matthias suggested locking posts after a certain period of inactivity and only allowing existing users the ability to unlock and post/edit. It turns out that may actually be possible. If it is, I have a few questions for the members: 1) What do you think would be an appropriate pe...
