Re: In Praise of the Pre-amp (Kinos with Unidisk SC)

I'd also recommend keeping an eye out for a Unidisc 2.1 or 1.1 and selling the SC. 2.1s and 1.1s have been pretty cheap recently on eBay etc.

Thanks Fredrik. Sounds like a very sensible choice to use the same case for both Tundra and Tundra Mono. Certainly increases the batch size that you can order.

Re: Tundra 2 power amplifier

http://www.lejonklou.com/products/tundra/Version 2.0A Okay, thanks. I've missed that bit of info completely. This seems to have come in very quietly. First I've heard of it too. Does it mean that any future upgrades will not be retrofittable to a Tundra 2.0? I have a 1.2 which I was intending to br...

What do you mean by that? No fun? If so, I am out of here. My hobby is fun. Why shout in red ink? Don, red ink is not "shouting". It signifies a message from a moderator. Any message. Fredrik, Azazello, it's a small point, but the red does come across as aggressive. Perhaps moderator posts could be...

Re: Speaker cable question

There's no such thing as "old K200" unless people manually split K400. K600 went out of production a while ago, so it's easier to get three lengths of K400 and split one to use as the extra pair if you need three channels. I'm not sure I see any benefit in choosing to split you K400 such that you en...

Re: Speaker cable question

Consensus on here is that new K200 is not as good as the old "K200" made from half of a K400. I would expect that a K600 would beat 3xK200 on that basis.

I can recommend the RKDSM, Tundra and 242s combo. I've just switched from a Renew KDS/1 and Exotik/Dyn combination feeding my own Tundra and 242s to a Renew KDSM (thanks to another seller on here) and it sounds great!

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer

A couple of thoughts from me on those points, some of which are the opposite of Don's views (sorry!) : 1 - I agree that this would be useful to some, and that a Lejonklou Streamer + Tundra combo might well be more tuneful than a Streamer + inferior preamp + Tundra combo. However, I wouldn't compromi...

Very nice setup there. If you upgrade the amplification at some point it will really release a lot more from those sources and speakers.

Re: How do you like your second system?

No impact on your NAS or DS from playing other sources through Airplay or Songcast. I love having the option, and would rather that my kids, wife and visitors are able to enjoy the system than have me hide it away with only my choice in music able to play on it! If anything, I want to keep some of m...

Interesting. I wonder if it's the Sneaky or the 104s which are the limiting factor there.

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

As the release notes for 35 say:
Fixed problem where certain DS devices with Exakt outputs would not boot with Davaar 34
Looks like it's only a concern if you have Exakt outputs on your device, so fine for anyone with a Renew, for instance.

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

Just be a little bit wary of 34. The reason it was withdrawn was that one or two people managed to completely "brick" their DS/DSM when applying it. I don't know which model and what specific circumstances applied when it was being updated, but I just thought I'd mention it...

Can't say that I have a spare small piece, but I have a pair of K400 which are not in use at the moment which I could cut down a bit if no-one else is able to help. Let me know if no-one else is forthcoming with spare cable.

I ordered one of these Monster power distribution blocks on recommendation from Flatearther, and I'd say that it does sound a bit more tuneful than the old generic one, as well as having surge protection, which seems like a good idea for the hifi. Current setup is: Double Socket on Wall (outlets A, ...

Hi all. A mono version, please no ;) I have enough issues finding space for Sagatun mono's in my rack :) Now there's an interesting thought. Mono streamers could lead to a rack by each speaker, with a "Lenjonklou DS Mono", Sagatun Mono and Tundra Mono, and nothing shared between left and right chan...
