Re: JBL 308P and 708P

I'm trying out my subwoofer via the tape out on my Linn preamplifier. The line out adapters (or RCA splitters) I tried didn't work for me. Linn's support line was as helpful as usual.

Hi Jajo, Before JBL Pro Line, do you have experience with some other active pro loudspeakers ... Genelec, KRK Studio Monitors, Yamaha, Adam Audio, M Audio ... Yes, I have listened to lots of monitors. When I first discovered the JBL 308 I got excited about the performance and tried many other speak...

Re: Crown amplifiers

If 708P is better than TM + 3677 then 708p input stage is better than TM? Amazing! Probably better to have this discussion in the thread about them :) It's really a leap of faith for me, I'm beginning to regret that I sold the Tundras and 3677 before I got the 708 ... I bought my 308P with the idea...

They look a little like the M2 speakers which thankfully led to trickle down to the 708P then the 308P.

rps20211117_235352.jpg These are the line out adapters I have coming to allow me to test the 308s with my subwoofer via my HiFi. I hadn't seen these adapters before I searched for a way to add a subwoofer to a conventional audio preamp. Adding one to a home theatre receiver is easy. A subwoofer sho...

I'll post the weight and dimensions of the boxes tomorrow morning. Some sellers don't understand how easy it is to have them picked up and delivered. I got lucky with door to door delivery from another country.

Re: Does an upgraded product make the former one obsolete?

Technology advances. The JBL 3 series and 7 series wouldn't have been possible twenty years ago. The Linn power amps and interconnects I resell will find a happy home and be an upgrade for someone (as did my Ikemi). Unlike many I've never been loyal to any brand - I trust my ears. Bob Ross liked hap...

rps20211117_215949.jpg No idea what these sound like but they're getting good reviews, have good build quality, are available at different heights and are well priced. Monoprice has a .com and a .co.uk website. I saw them mentioned in the comments section of a Guttenberg review of Genelec G speakers.

Re: JBL 308P and 708P

Switching from the convenient early test using the pre out of the Classik to a Linn Kolektor was a fresh revelation in testing the 308P. My passive power amps, huge speakers, cables, rack etc. will be sold.

The JBLs are the biggest HiFi bargain in my lifetime. Thanks again Jajo.

In the past you could sell Linn gear for respectable prices. You still can.

As I'll shortly do with two LK140s.

Shout out to Jajo about the 308P. Jajo's description of them is spot on. My initial test is using the pre out of the Linn Classik (without a subwoofer). They're exceptional. Certain tracks suffer in the lowest frequencies compared with my very good floorstanders (but I knew which tracks truly test t...

OK, maybe I’ve been a bit over critical for some people, so let me try and explain the thinking behind my post. I honestly think that I’m entitled to call myself a fully paid up member of the Linn appreciation society, having owned (mostly from new) several LP12s, Basik +, Ittok, Ekos, Asak, ?????,...

Re: LP12 Radikal problem

However, owners would need to sue their dealer, which I’m sure most would reluctant to do, and the dealers would then have to sue Linn. Having a dealership does not obviate Linn (or any other manufacturer) of legal liability for goods not fit for purpose under the legal system of any civilised coun...
