Pity Linn stopped making separate aktiv filters. I don't understand if Tuneboxes can be ordered for any Linn speaker or if that is only in Klimax shells?

It shouldn't be too different from Majik 140, should it? And that was splendid.

I finally got to hear the Tundra on Friday and I understand all that has been said in favour of it. The demo was with Klimax DS & Kontrol, speakers were Majik 140. I spent one half hour in the shop where the kind Anders shifted back and forth between the Tundra and an Akurate. It brought out details...

New speaker stands

I finally got some stands suitable for the heavy large ATC SCM 20SL which have until now stood on too small Target MR 60. It was not easy to find in my town someone that had stands with large bottom and top plates. The speakers are 24 x 28 centimetres and weigh 23 kilograms and their centre of gravi...

My experience is that a better component can be told straight away cold or hot. But it can definetely be different and then I need some time and discussions with someone sharing our interest in music and think of what I want from it. Detail pace song feeling so on.

Tonight I finally tightened the 8 screws on each ATC speaker and wow such crisp clarity.
They were quite loose but just half a turn felt rigtht not having any other torque measuring than my arm.
Now Little Feat plays Willin' even better.

I got kabers about 1990 ran them passive and then active with the active filter in a lk box. I changed power amps and cables and feet for those speakers. All this amounted to a lot of money for me and I ended up having a ridiculously complicated mess and which did not satisfy me. The Katans were sma...

Hi,

I remember that my Kabers improved lots with Kustone stands and Skeets. But I also remember the relief when they were replaced, by Katans.

"Linn decided to add a label: 'reverse polarity on treble connections' "

That is almost like the British road sign:

Turn round and walk in the opposite direction

Which way is that?

..and I had a Nait II drive my "difficult" 85dB ATC SCM 20SL this summer. But the volume dial was just a quarter to twelve.

I am getting very interested in Lejonklou amps!

What an impressive test list Music Lover! It is hard work apart from being fun. As an ATC-user however I have to say I don't lack anything in detail or musicality in any of the ATC models I have heard. I have owned active 10-2 and now have passive SCM20SL and both models are way superior to the acti...

bi-amp test

Last week I borrowed a Akurate 4200 power amp from my friendly shop to finally try and bi-amp my passive ATC SCM 20. They have four posts where you normally connect the two reds and blacks. First I used two channels and noted straight away that it was superior to the 2250 that way. Then all four cha...

I could easily live with an LP12 and an old Nait and the smallest ATC 7s. An ipod for the digits.

Mistakes

During my 27 year (since 1984!) Linn history I made a few mistakes setting up equipment that I would like to share with you as bad examples: 1) This winter I concluded that biwiring between power amp 2250 and speaker ATC 20 SL was better than single-wiring. Last week I had borrowed an old Naim Nait ...

Me too. There is just one I want.

I suppose these are the mixes same as the SACD hybrids which Andrew Loog Oldham still owns.

(I got a 2nd hand Murray Head LP yesterday I've been looking for since 1987.)

Well my QNap T109 sounded very good tonight with The Rolling Stones humming along.

I am fascinated by the way the versions of software for the DS have got better since Bute over to Cara.
