Physical build complete. Now for getting the software to work....
It's at times like this I regret that my youngest son is now 25 and living two hundred miles away. He'd have it sorted in ten minutes.

Re: HAKAI
I've now got almost everything, and will do the physical build tonight. Please note, the Streacom Nano 160 came with a standard IEC 3 flat pin connector. The Farnell part number for the power cord has a 3 round pin connector, so I am returning it and will use a spare Linn power cord for the moment. ...

The SATA cable is not yet ordered, I will make do with a generic until I work out how to order to the UK from the webhallen website - I have emailed them to ask for help. Re: Where do we go from here?
Ozzzy,
I've got Tundra Monos driving speakers that are demonstrably less efficient than Akubariks - Graham LS5/9s.
I can't use volumes beyond green.....
Can't see the point of a gruntier amplifer. :)

Re: HAKAI
I've spent some time tracking down a motherboard, and found a 3050 D2P. It seems the key difference is that it requires U-DIMM rather than SO-DIMM memory. Is this significant? I don't think this matters. UDIMM is bigger but as long as there's enough space in the enclosure it should be fine. There a...

Re: Where do we go from here?
I understand the soundstage never made it to production, not good enough apparently. I have done some comparisons between different Quadraspire models and can report that bamboo shelves are better than the veneered wood, and that SVT (slightly larger) is better than Q4 evo. So SVT bamboo is the one ...

Re: Mains improvement, after the wall socket
No, I don't expect the vinyl playback to benefit from switch and NAS moving closer to the system. Thanks, that keeps the variables manageable! On a separate note, one reason I'm not buying a new equipment rack just yet is that I don't know whether I should be allowing an extra shelf for the Lejonkl...

Re: Mains improvement, after the wall socket
Not tried, would be very difficult to make all the cables connect! What I meant was: Don't you have two wall sockets side by side in the wall? If so, have you tried plugging one strip into each? Or do you have to plug one into the socket on the other side of the room? Streaming is a very distant se...

Re: Mains improvement, after the wall socket
Currently I am using a 6-way powerstrip, unswitched and no LED. Thank you, Charlie1! This generic item is very slightly cleaner and more musical than my previous generic 4-way strips. It connects two sources (Radikal and DS), Sagatun Monos and Tundra Monos. The LSNAS and network switches (GS105s) a...

Re: Mains improvement, after the wall socket
4. Am I completely mad? Yes (my opinion) Are you not satisfied with the music you are hearing right now? If that’s the case, anything related to power would be the last thing to investigate. Proper acoustic treatment and accurate placement of speakers to your main listening position are the first 2...

Mains improvement, after the wall socket
I've been following the Optimal House Wiring thread with interest, as I have previously installed dedicated circuits for the hifi - but currently I cannot do anything as the apartment is rented and only switched wall sockets are available, not ideal. So my questions relate only to what can be done a...

Re: Heads up, when buying vinyl
Thanks, Thomas! In the Court of the Crimson King is a big gap in my collection, so thanks for the warning.... I get suspicious when all that is said is "remastered from the original analogue tapes" without further comment. On a separate but parallel track, I have recently discovered Gretchen Peters,...

Re: New LP12 Urika II phonostage and Lingo 4
That would be the necessary demo! I've got ADS/3 and Urika 1. The only thing that stops me getting the demo set up, and taking along my Lejonklou boxes for a complete replica of my system, is that there should be another top quality MC phono stage available in a few months, so it makes sense to wait...

Price reductions all round, as per edited first post. And I'm now prepared to ship the stands. My new Graham LS5/9s are now in place, so the 109s and stands are now all ready for a new owner.
