Re: Linn Selekt to klimax Exakt question

In a passive system, the DAC would be in the Selekt and therefore Katalyst in Selekt is a good improvement. In an Exakt system, the DAC is in the Exaktbox. In this system the Selekt doesn't need any kind of DAC, so the best solution is a no DAC Selekt (they call it the system hub). If it had a DAC, ...

Re: LEJONKLOU MUGS - Updated with first charity donations

The mugs have arrived! They look quite nice and all survived the trans-oceanic trip without damage. That the despite the written warnings not to drop, etc. which most US shipping companies seem to take as a request to do just that. Now I just have to figure out how to package them individually or i...

PMC Torque Settings

Not sure if anyone else here has these speakers, but here are the official torque settings for the record, just in case:

Tweeter is 0.6Nm
Midrange is 0.75Nm
Woofer is 0.75Nm

These were provided by Peter Thomas on the FB PMC group.

Songcorder Review

For those who are interested in capturing the music playing on their DS / DSM - particularly vinyl - Songcorder might be useful. A review here: https://audiophilemusings.blogspot.com/ ... re-by.html

Re: Booplinth

I’ve just noticed that I’ve never contributed to this topic. Suffice to say, I agree entirely with Thomas’ “review”, both in terms of its “musicality” (it can’t play bass) and its finish (a stained variable density material - really?). Hi Spannko, Second, the finish is fine. Unless you're into blin...

Re: Linn Klimax Kontrol: are the balanced/unbalanced outputs independent?

Yes. You would need to balance the volume on the subs anyway.

So just go ahead with your set up setting the sub volume levels by ear.

Enjoy.

Re: Linn Klimax Kontrol: are the balanced/unbalanced outputs independent?

You can't use them at the same time in the context of an active system or bi-amping, if that's what you were thinking of doing.

They have different gain levels so they can't be used in this way. Fine if you want to feed amps in different rooms of course.

Re: upgrade path

I've heard a few systems containing Lampizator components. Mixed bag - none of them bad, one particularly musical, one too edgy for long term listening. Despite the www claims, these are not reasonably priced components, with DACs and CD players in the €3k to €6k region. If the components they build...

Re: Linn AKurate 4200 Internal Cable Disconnection

I have already removed the two internal, interchannel links - ie the one between channels 1+2 and the other between channels 3+4. It is a different cable that I am trying to identify and then remove. There are several threads on this forum about removing a cable between the right and left boards - ...

Re: Linn Akurate DS/0 update problem

I have Akurate DSM, Sneaky DS and Majik DSM/3 and they all updated seamlessly.

My brother updated his Akurate DS/0 without problem last week too.

First check if your Konfig is up to date, if it is then I suggest you contact helpline@linn.co.uk as they can look at your system's logs.
