Re: HAKAI playground

After listening to the clips a few times I was think I might be totally off since I preferred #1. Then I realised that my web browser opened the tabs on reverse order! Spotted it first when I looked at the file name :D So you like the second one first, and the first one second, but not necessarily ...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

Totally agree with you ML. Never good to use someone else’s product as a punching bag. Top that with only talking about how it sounds just made it worse! Maybe the installation in the clip was far from well tuned to start with? I have listened to the entry level select dsm, and it was not as bad as ...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

I listened to the clip on my iPhone in my car waiting for the MOT. When the first Selekt clip started I totally lost interest and found my self turning the gear knob so the TVR logo was in the right direktion... The last one with space on was totataly “dead”, took the last of anything away. Must say...

Looks like we soon can have Tidal/Qobuz integrated in next Volumio release :)

Meanwhile I have installed bubbelupnp on my Qnap to get Tidal on my raspberry/Volumio streamer.

I have had the Nait2 and Tukans as my main system for a long time, now it serves as our bedroom stereo since it did not really work in our new apartment.
With a concrete wall behind the Tukans they really delivered musical joy!

Re: KATALYST OR NOT

Thanks!
Now to the most interesting question for me, how about the analog input and esp the internal riaa?
I’m convinced that with a digital signal, NAS or Tidal, that katalyst out performs the analog version of adsm.

Re: Upgrade advice (Katan or Akudorik)

A, yes, I recall listening to Klangs in Göteborg, they were mighty fine! Tundra is a likely option as well, though Boazu less so. I would like to abstain from adding an Exaktbox at the moment. Tundra monos and akudoriks are great combo, pretty happy with it my self ;) The Klångedang was of interest...

Re: KATALYST OR NOT

Hi all, I was wondering what the general opinion is of katalyst upgrade on a ADSM? Many thanks Scott... Excellent. Tell me more, what improvments can I expect? Analog inputs, esp the internat riia, better/worse with the DVC vs the old AVC? LP12 is my main source and I’m little put off by the analog...

Re: Upgrade advice (Katan or Akudorik)

Why not toss in a Boazu and Klångedang into the mix with a KDS?
That would be a really musical setup!

Re: Source HAKAI components Cross-Country

Is there anyone here who can help source some 'tacos for me, please? I'll likely need a minimum of 3 of the recommended Deltaco SATA cables; might as well get 6, if they're a 'sensible' price, so that I have some spares... Hoping some kind person can pop a few in a padded mailer bag, and send to th...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

I’m looking forward to a demo of this thingy and hear how it actually plays and ignore the form factor and spec sheet. Design is a mather of taste and hard to argue about. What I do know is that not everyone have the space for mono everything boxes when living in a small apartment and not alone. Hei...

Re: Volumio.

I’m using a Raspberry pi with Volumio and the esi HD+.
Same issue when using the web-interface, stops playing after one song. When using “Lumin” as controlpoint no problems at all, just ad the album and it keeps playing.
Kazoo only play Flacks and not Alac on my rpi, NAS is a QNAP running MinimServer.

Re: HAKAI

I just had to try Volumio, so I bought a raspberry pi3 b+ And Connected to a Nait2 and Tukans. Works just fine, no problem with flashing the microSD and get it up and running connected to Ethernet. Web UI worked to do the set up, no need to hook up to screen or keyboard. Using the web UI to browse a...

Most of the hifi forums have a "listening to right now" thread and I find that a great way to find new music to try - I even like some of! Agree! Most new (and old) music I found last 3 years have been in those kind of threads :) Just back home from a secondhand store and found a small thingy I wan...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Me too. There's definitely something annoying about that DMM clip. I can almost hear the metal resonating violently when they cut it, as opposed to the gentle mould of the other clip. Recorded at same volume setting on preamp, so output from record must differ. Guitars and upper frequencies was eas...
