Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Today I played around little more with speaker placement, Kaos did not want to help me today so I hope you guys can :) I forgot to make a new "before" clip, so same music as last one. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-Q6hmbnB/0/81a1d7c3/1280/i-Q6hmbnB-1280.mp4 https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-t...

Better or worst? Just moved the power strip in the socket. Kaos (Chaos), our cat, heard his name screwed out so he turned up in the second clip :P https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-9B8sJxW/0/c060e7c3/1280/i-9B8sJxW-1280.mp4 https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-Q6hmbnB/0/81a1d7c3/1280/i-Q6hmbnB-128...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Some friendly tips when making comparative clips: • Film or record from the exact same position each time. • Try keeping the volume identical each time. • It's much easier comparing two clips than three or more. More than two decreases certainty, simplicity and participation. • If using a phone, qu...

Picked my copy up just before lunch today. Walk home in the lovely autumn weather and put the LP on first thing when I got home.

Ha! To me the music is much better without the picture. More focussed and together. Though it looks prettier with it on the wall! :-)
Guess why it ended up on the wall ;)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Those files are really interesting. Please tell us what Lejonklou products you use in the second clip. I’m using sagatun monos, tundra monos and slipsik7. We was little surprised that it was that close in performance even thou the difference is bigger in room then in the clips. The picture on the w...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Just plug in the amp you are in the mood to use and sit back..... Guess that’s the ultimate test, how much music do you listen to. This weekend we played some 20-25 records on the LP12, did not feel the urge to compare amps just play more music as usual! That said, a mayor source upgrade on the way...

Just a spontaneous answer with little to back it up with, Nait 1. Guess I have to make some clips at some point.

@ThomasOK: That’s the reason we have a pair of oa116 in our living room:) They still need some more work, woofer have been replaced at some point in their 45 year life to something that’s not correct. Little hard to find the original parts since they have suffered from the edge foam not standing tim...

@DoomHammer: That would have been worrisome!

@Matteo: Yes the Akurate works nicely with T1, just that when you hear a complete Klimax setup the difference becomes obvious. I could definitely live with the Akurate+T1 it’s really good!

Re: Larsen speakers

I have a pair of OD11’s that need attention one tweeter is dead. So at the moment one have a ikea symfonisk “guts” inside one of them just for fun, so active 2-way with built in streamer :) Little hesitant to “upgrade” with new tweeters, woofer and filters. High cost and how will they play compared ...

Re: Larsen speakers

There’s a big difference in design on the Sonab/Carlsson speakers. Started with indirect sound in the 60’s to be more of a mix indirect/direct sound in the 70’s with as many as 16 elements in each speaker, the oa2212 with 2 mid, 2 woffers and 12 tweeters in one speaker! 80’s design was even more dir...
