I agree…….As Charlie1 wrote experiment around 150 cm from tweeter to tweeter. Mine are 155 cm apart. Then try again with different distances from the back wall.

Forgot to mention that I think your system sounds great without sound absorbers. Maybe you should just leave it as it is. :-)

Re: Pete's System

Your search for better sound should start by removing the TV and securing the speakers are standing firmly (not rocking). Then you can go on with room treatment and more………..

But as you are finding out: everything matters! :-)

Re: Pete's System

Then there's the question of curly or straight sheepskin, of course. I think I could also arrange deer skin and wolf skin for testing, maybe even reindeer ;-) I have small samples of straight sheepskin in the shop, I think I'll try one of those for the LP12 cables. I think you will find that the So...

………. not to mention cables and setup!

I value a human like communication above all else when listening. That is why I love listening to my wife playing the piano in the living room. :-)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

During the video they mention that they had to find an original CD master to get good music out of the speakers (at 12.50). The remastered versions sounded flat. I experience the same when listening to CD’s using my CD player. The same has been said and experienced when playing vinyl. All we can do ...

Re: The conclusion of digital volume regulation

I think changing patterns of vibration are playing tricks on us all. Therefore opinions differ.

(It does not help either that we all listen differently.)

The very smallest change of anything in my setup creates a new “sound” and a different portrayal of the music (when using my digital source).

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I can recall the founder of VIVA Audio, Amedeo, while setting up a complete system one of our dem rooms at the time would use wool pad sheets that he would cut to size on the fly -adding, stacking, twisting, removing again- on all the components after initial setup to fine tune the system to some p...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Just remember that any setup is different and I do think that not using a conventional preamp makes my system more vulnerable to unwanted vibration.
Then again digital is weird. :-)
