Re: Speaker cable question
Yes, but that was a result of splitting the two positives from the two negatives. If I keep each set of positive/negative together is it then better with three seperated cables instead of the one K600 cable.

Re: Speaker cable question
Thank you for the answer. I was thinking of old K200 if I could get my hands on some or has that speaker cable never existed?
Maybe I should make my K400 into two single-wire cables and ad a third made of one K400 cable I buy combining them into a "K600"?

Speaker cable question
As I prefer multi-wire to single-wire would 2.48m 3xK200 be better than getting K600 for my Espeks?

I am now 100% back to my old sound and to celebrate here is Teitur recorded live direct to vinyl. Your smartphone/tablet speaker is challenged by this recording so do turn the volume a bit down. Re: Sharing the sound of our systems!
Carefully I have reassembled my phono cable and my K400 speaker cables with tape and it works! I have got the old sound back. It turns out that splitting K400 still using it as a bi-wire cable has the same kind of effect on the sound as Lejonklou has discribed when splitting a phono cable. Slightly ...
Re: JBL 3677
[Do you mean that it's easier to follow what instrument is playing, or it's easier to follow the tune of each instrument? I've heard many expensive "audiophile hifi" systems which allow one to clearly hear the different instruments being played, even down to finger noises on strings or spit on the r...
Re: JBL 3677
Yes, that I have tried on and off a couple of times but it does not agree with my musician ear. With single wire I also cannot tell when the musicians on a recording (analog) is in or out of tune with each other! I know I am out of sync with most people on this forum in this matter but that is what ...
Re: JBL 3677
In my system the splitting of K400 leads to out of tune music when still using bi-wire configuration. I wish I could go back.

Re: Sharing the sound of our systems!
I think I am in a kind of shock! I cannot go back to the sound I love. I have tried with tape and it did help but not enough. I am now in a position where I will end up searching for a new arm cable and speaker cables. Silly me!

Re: Sharing the sound of our systems!
I spent some time listening carefully and (surprise!) we see things the same way. What I notice also is that I loose my ability to use my musician ears to determine if a note is low, in tune or high pitched. Well, trial and error is the way forward (back :-))! Now I worry that the same thing could b...

Re: Sharing the sound of our systems!
This recording is a couple of months old and I have in the meantime removed them and it is as you say better. I have also since this recording done some splitting of my K400 speaker cables and my Sondeks arm cable. It has resulted in better sound indeed.

Thank you for playing along charlie1. Yes, we cannot use these clips to compare sound but some things do stand out none the less. Lovely refined sound indeed from your system. Sharing the sound of our systems!
Inspired by the JBL tread I think it is time for us to share bits of sound recorded from our systems. My example is an ipad recording of a track from an all analog recording of "The Dirty Dozen Brass Band" featuring G. Love. This is how I like it! :-) Links removed! Feel free to ask or to comment on...

Ignore this post!
Re: JBL 3677
I really like the comment by Lejonklou about the JBL making other speakers sound like polite hifi! It is in perfect line with my kind of thinking about hifi in general and what should be the real goal for a music system at home.
Re: JBL 3677
Is there a Linn speaker that has a sound that reminds you of this JBL?
Re: JBL 3677
I do not know this speaker but from what I have read it most be the same kind of sound I am looking for. This is really interesting. I look at it this way: Sit in front of a band (bas, drums, guitar, keyboard and vokal) and listen to them playing. Go home and listen to a recording on your hifi and i...
