I think one issue that potentially is a hindrance to Lejonklou now to the some of the wider hi-fi community is the tie-in with Linn. It started as something that would mainly appeal to Linn owners - an alternative, yes at lower prices but also in many people's eyes (ears?) better. Sagatun goes some ...

What is Pukka? Do you mean spruce?
"Pukka" is like "genuine", or "the real deal" or perhaps "the best".

Hifiwigwam is troll city. I give up on it for months on end. Even the site owner gets in on it! whatsbestforum might be a good one.

The use of an optical link between mono pre-amps sounds like a great idea from an electrical isolation perspective.

This to me is one significant problem with the KK in that it does need to be set up correctly in terms of torques. New ones can be very variable in quality. At least with Sagatun you're getting a more consistent product because Fredrik pays close attention to this.

'Saga' is an Old Norse word and perfectly suitable, but Sagatun is better and more in keeping I think.

Yes! I have a natural limit of listening to music of about an hour, maybe a bit more. The 'noise floor' just gets too high after that and I'm battling to hear over the buzz. And that's at low volumes.

Certainly agree sound quality should be the first priority! It would be useful to control volume via a control point but I can imagine the extra circuitry required to do this could be fairly considerable, unless it's easily done with off-the-shelf components? Linn use two different methods of achiev...

*SOLD* Linn KDS/1 Black

For sale my Linn KDS/1 in black with Dynamik power supply. This is the current model with the power switch under the front right. Condition is excellent - no scratches or cosmetic unpleasantness. The KDS/1 was manufactured in May 2011 and warranty lasts until 19 May 2016. I've had some warranty work...

Just got some Micronnects from stuff-uk.net and I can confirm the markings are identical to the ones from Amazon I posted in the previous post.
So something's changed recently. Well, I shall try them out!

OK, I've got a couple of pairs of Microconnect cable and the markings are different again :( Here's what's on the back of the packet. The 'S' on the end of SSTP603S indicates black cable. 'W' = white, 'B' = blue etc. SSTP603S SSTP CAT6 3M BLACK LSZH 5704327713197 On the cable is: PATCH CORD CATEGORY...

I'm glad this has been brought up. There's some subjects which seem to be completely ignored. I guess the difficulty with volume is that there's a comfortable level to listen to so there's not a lot of leeway with the equipment you have. I'm quite restricted by the volume I can play things at and in...

*Sold* Tundra Monos for sale

I'm very reluctantly selling my Tundra Monos :( Financial circumstances (OK, laziness in finding a job) have forced me to downsize. Monos are serial numbers 19 & 20 and were purchased from Hidden Systems in the UK in Feb 2013. I am the only owner from new and they're in excellent condition - no cosm...

It strikes me there's a stonking hole in the market there for a streamer which outputs to Exakt Link for a fraction of the price of the EKDSM, providing Exakt Link could be cracked of course. Though the Tuneboxes sound like they'll be prohibitively expensive on their own for most people. The problem...
