Your one went back to Fredrik for the last upgrade. I’m not aware of anyone in the UK who can do it at the moment.

Re: Giella headphone amp

I first wrote that Sagatun is better. Then yesterday evening, after having listened to Giella+Tundra for over a week, I wrote that I take it back. I think Giella is more musical. Boazu and Sagatun may both have a more precise sound character, but the music is simply more fun with Giella. Others may...

Re: Streaming service

Hello, I see many posts indicating that Qobuz is great. Would you mind explaining me which is the most convenient way you have found to stream through the DS with Qobuz? install the Qobuz app on your smartphone? or the Qobuz in the Linn app on smartphone? other way? With Spotify for example their a...

Re: Streaming service

Another vote for Qobuz from me. I haven’t compared other suppliers but the sound quality is excellent.

The Studio option with hi-res streaming is only £12.50/month if you pay for a year upfront.

Re: Pete's System

Great story Pete. I fully appreciate your comments as I too have now moved away from Linn and discovered massive musical improvements, which I wouldn’t have thought possible after all these years. The only thing left is 2 pairs of silver interconnects and “Lejonklou style K200” speaker cables, thoug...

......better sound than Sagatun Monos....... May I ask what you are missing? Thanks Matt My current system sounds the best I've ever heard it, but you never know what you're missing till you hear something better. (every Linn KDS owner should try and listen to a Vitus RD-101 by the way). Plus, as s...

Re: Preamp discussions

But Fredrik’s already said that a Sagatun Mono sounds better, and I’d like a remote! What is your intended purpose? You have already Sagatun Monos....... Matt As everything now goes through my Vitus RD-101 streamer/DAC, I only need a volume control. So I want a better sound than Sagatun Monos from ...

Re: Preamp discussions

Presumably because of the separated channels and power supplies. How about a dual mono Kikkin then? Would it need two separate boxes for optimum sound quality? IMO, too complex. Keep it simple: One unswitched Input, no remote, no HP output, just optimised for line out. Matt But Fredrik’s already sa...

Re: Headphone amp?

Same here. I'm now down to using the optimum single input on my Sagatun Monos. Is it potentially better than that? No, Sagatun Mono is better. IMO, absolutely OK when possible without sacrificing SQ.

Matt
Agreed. I’d like to think that was possible - otherwise Sagatun and Boazu would have a rotary volume knob wouldn’t they?

Re: Headphone amp?

What you are asking for, tpetsch and Matt, is a new Kikkin. Right? This time without remote control. Yes, only one input, no remote, highest SQ for the money. I never listen to HP, so I think it would be a very interesting byproduct. But I understand your POV Matt How about a new Kikkin with remote...

Re: Headphone amp?

Will the HP output and the line output work both at the same time or are the outputs switched? The volume OUT is switched. That means, when you plug a headphone into the jack, any amp and loudspeakers connected to OUT will go quiet. I have assembled, tuned and listened to the first production Giell...

Re: Musical Streaming Services

Qobuz Studio is even better value if you pay upfront for a year (£149.99). There is also a family plan at £24.99/ month. Qobuz are also very good at refunding part used plans when you switch between them. There are a lot of new releases you’ve never heard of, but the big names are usually in the rel...
