It was Anders at Tonläget (designer of Harmoni and Klångedang) who said that Asset was better than Twonky on QNAP. Been curious about Asset myself since it was released but never got to try it but after this I did. Found the same thing as him really. He use an Intel-based and I use an ARM-based. Not...

Since I have an Oppo 105 (not D) I downloaded some samples, Ella Fitzgerald and CSN http://www.ayre.com/insights_dsdvspcm.htm Put on an USB stick and into the front USB input of the Oppo. It doesn't say on the webpage but I assume they are DSD64 since my understanding is that this version of 105 can...

Thanks for the report David. If you have more than one mediaserver installed, be sure to turn off/disable the one not in use. As said, I'm running Asset on QNAP now and for the best performance the build-in Twonky must be disabled. The difference is significant.

Christian - thanks for the report. Just as I have found that ThomasOK was right about Songbox being better than Asset, you report that Debian is better than Windows. Songbox/Kazoo is (of course) not available for Linux! ........................... Well, actually it is now http://oss.linn.co.uk/trac...

.... BUT BUT - the important conclusion was that Sagatun Mono is GREAT! Making the KK vs Sagatun Stereo comparison almost irrelevant!! For you, yes. But in my case, if and when I replace my Kinos it's a question of a s/h KK of some sort or Sagatun Stereo. Judging from what I heard I would think the...

What you are saying is that Sagatun stereo needs Mimer K to perform equal or better than KK ? A lot more sensitive to support.

got my cables from Fredrik and they are great , despite them being 1-2cm too long (currently using Speakon) The extra 1-2cm is needed to be able to cut the cable and solder bananas... So did I, ordered 2,50 K200 to be able to cut and solder bananas (you never know). Fredrik asked what Speakon conne...

As always a pleasure to meet Fredrik and he held an excellent demo. For me it was quite clear that KK was better than Sagatun Stereo but it's not that much behind. Might very well beat everything else Linn has produced. Sagatun Mono was another story, far better than Stereo! Staggering preamp. I did...

.... That said, the really fare test would be to test the Sagatun against preamps in the same price range. Not comparing with something costing more than two times more! It just shows what we excpect from Lejonklou products. ... True, a more fair comparison would be AK/1. If it's significantly bett...

Regarding power amplifiers, something like this is probably reasonably close: Twin Solo I would say... Twin Twin/D Solo Solo/D What about 2200/D compared to Twin? Chakra Twin (non D) is IMO better than 2200/D. But Twin has been around since 2001/2002 or so and the first version was not Chakra. Most...

What about colour? Seems like Kikkin and Slipsik was available in silver but Gaio and Tundra are black only. Maybe you commented on this before?

You use Slipsik, Fredrik ? I do. Is that preamp or source ? Yes, I do and it's a source. The order in my power strip is: Preamp, Radikal, Slipsik, ... I also have other sources. I find that the one plugged in closest to the preamp gets the "best position". So it seems wise to use this order: Preamp...

I was wrong. Preamp should go first, then sources and last power amps. I don't know if it works on all systems, but so far it has been a success.

Please try this and report back what you think!

Their LANH 2000 power amp is a Behringer and costs 258 Euro. A low budget PA power amp. German brand made in China so I guess designed in Germany is true.

............ hcl, my findings are the opposite of yours with 4.1.10 and 4.9.2, and from your description we listen for the same things - musical coherence not sonic detail. I have compared with both 109 and 140. The 109's shortcomings are obvious in comparison, they sound small and lacks bass. Like someone set a lower limit in them. The 140 doesn't sound small and lacks bass but other than that I don't really regard them that much better in tunedem. Klångedang have, fo...

Have been running 4.7.5 for a few days now and been happy wih it. Installed 4.5.3 and that was no doubt less good. From Linns advice I gave 4.8.2 (Davaar 8) another try and it worked fine. Felt good right away. better than 4.5.3. Don't think there was much difference from 4.7.5, need to install that...
