Re: HAKAI playground

Ok so I know I’m a bit late here, but I i did listen before I red the revelation. Even though I had read that all of you preferred #2 I have to say I didn’t hear much of a difference at all! So I guess that’s a good thing if it turns out the more expensive was better :)

Re: HAKAI Burn-In

I'm wondering if you're maybe not suffering from mains variation. How does Hakai sound in the mornings No its not that. It can sound quite bad in the middle of the night as well. I’m also under the impression that the badness stays for days, it’s not tied to just a listening session. Since I got th...

What cables are the Blue Jeans replacing?
One random "from my box full of mixed cables" and one microconnect (the old recommendation), but it might also be a bit mistreated.

Re: HAKAI Burn-In

My experience with HAKAI is that it sounds fantastic in every way when it’s good and just plain worse when it’s bad. There is no compromise between music and sound in the variations.

Re: HAKAI Burn-In

This might be the most frustrating aspect of HAKAI in my opinion. The fantastic deep bass it's able to create when it sounds good might be the most important reason that I think it rivals my LP12. But sometimes it just disappears ... and I don't know why. Now when I have used it for over four months...

I would probably not recommend it to someone who uses a HAKAI with a Classic music an Unik, but generally it’s very very easy to say yes. To me that’s apparent in the clips I posted :)

Re: HAKAI playground

Just start buying Intel 320’s 600 GB I guess :) I was under the impression that you can only attach 4 to the 3150 motherboard. Is there a way around that? Sorry for my computer ignorance... I agree, clip 1 has a much more natural swing to it. Clip 2 sounds stilted in comparison.

Re: HAKAI playground

Since no one else seemed interested in guessing; no surprises the first Clip is HAKAI NAS, the second Qnap. That's fantastic! (I did harbour a slight fear that number one, which I found substantially more fun to listen to, would be Qnap). No no. And the test was fairly stringent too, using the same...
